Thank you to the hard-working volunteers that cleaned up Maryville with the Blount County Public Library at Dash for Trash last weekend! In just an hour, 17 bags of litter were removed from the surrounding streets. 😮

After the cleanup, Blount County Public Library provided cafe drinks to our volunteers! (Too bad PistolCreek Pete couldn’t have any😉) We are so appreciative for their partnership and care for our community.

Thank you to everyone who dropped off items at the Reuse and Recycling Pop-Up this past Saturday! Dropping off your electronics, batteries, documents, clothing, housewares, and more means that we can keep these items out of the landfill and give them a new life either through reuse or recycling. In addition the accepted items, all cardboard boxes and plastic film from the event was recycled too!

We are so grateful to our community for showing up and for generously donating to help ease event costs ☺️

After the cleanup, head inside the library to scan the shelves, enjoy the children's library, visit the Blount County Friends of the Library book store, grab a coffee, and enjoy some AC. 😀

Thank you to these volunteer groups for spending some time removing litter from Alcoa with us recently! 😄

The Alcoa Kiwanis Club is one of our newest Adopt-A-Mile volunteer groups and they have adopted a section of Wright Rd! Students from Montgomery Ridge Intermediate School partnered with KBB for their United Way of Blount County SERVE Day, and we had the pleasure of working with volunteers from McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base on multiple cleanups. 😄

The Glass Waste Diversion Program was created to better utilize glass waste at local restaurants and bars— that would otherwise be buried in the Blount County Landfill— by providing the missing link between participating businesses and the Blount County Recycling Center. ♻
