Good morning everyone! Im glad to say yesterday was a huge success! We were able to help a lot of people, and The Dandelion Pantry will continue to partner with the Really, Really Free Market Albany OR.

That being said, our stock is significantly lower now that we've been able to distribute so much food to the community, we are in need of donations! Please reach out if you have any food to donate, we can accept anything unopened and unexpired as long as it isnt perishable!

We are also partnering with TrinketCousins to do a raffle at a local business for all sorts of goodies from 3 vendors, all the proceeds of the raffle will go directly to the Dandelion Pantry! There will be more details in the next few days about where and when the raffle will be, as well as how it will work, so keep an eye out!

WONDERFUL things are happening! The Dandelion Pantry is partnering with the Really, Really Free Market Albany OR! The market has set up a Patreon which will be used to secure funds which I will link in this post. We are also partnering with a small business to help fund things with a raffle as well, so keep an eye out for that post!

We at the pantry decided that we needed a location a well known place to distribute much of the donations we've been given, while we work towards a larger and more established operation. We are still always accepting messages in regards to donations, which we can pick up or have dropped off!

Please, if you have any food you know you wont eat that isn't expired, don't wait! donate it to us or a local pantry who can get it into the hands of people who will have a use for it!

Hello all, there's been a development with how we will move forward with the pantry!

We have decided that the dandelion community pantry with develop into an emergency pantry that is able to step up in times of greater when regular pantries are unable to fill needs.

We are working on several ideas to help foster preparedness within the community as well as develop plans to be prepared for anything from a supply chain issue, to disasters, or even another attempt from the government to starve its people like in 2025.

We hope that by structuring ourselves in this way we can better focus our energy and work with our limited resources to have the biggest impact, while still retaining our goal of helping those who are often left behind or fall through the cracks.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to the future!

Hello everyone Its Justin Watkins. The pantry is going through some changes and shifts right now, but I want you to know that things are on track for the future!

When the pantry was first created and thought up, the people of Albany and the rest of Oregon were facing an emergency. The government was shut down and SNAP would not be given out for an unknown amount of time, despite funding being set aside for this specific situation, the federal government didn't see it fit to feed its most vulnerable populations.

That urgency lead to an idea to create a pantry. We did a lot of helping people, handing out food to upwards of 28 families, and helping with thanksgiving dinner of many people as well. Albany stepped up most, while I was busy delivering and picking up, you all were giving whatever you had to keep our neighbors fed.

However in the haste of it all, things were easier. Now that things have slowed down a bit, I had almost no idea where to start. I'm doing the work to restructure the new organization into something smaller to start, with the hope to grow into a hub that can feed those who fall through the cracks in the system.

This little node of mutual aid is a stubborn flower of hope for me and I hope it does the same for more people💛.

Please stay tuned for more announcements regarding volunteers and people who would like to have a hand in building this mutual aid hub I dream of!

[I will have the full story of my journey(for those who are interested) in the short 3 last months of 2025 posted on my brand new substack, link in my profile]
