There are moments when words are hard to find, and this has been one of them.
At MVPW, we took a step back before sharing a message about the loss of Mason Flores. This tragedy has had a profound impact on our Sweet Home families and our leadership team. We have all felt this loss in our own way as we recognize the pain being carried by Mason’s family, his friends, and everyone who loves him. We wanted to take time to process, reflect, and find the right words to express our love and support.
During this time, we have watched people across our state and even our nation come together to honor Mason and surround his family, especially his Mom, with an incredible outpouring of love, prayers, and condolences. It has been a powerful reminder of how many lives Mason touched and how deeply he is loved.
Mason was once one of our little Huskies in Sweet Home, and he will forever be one of our Huskies. 💚💛 No matter how much time passes or where life takes our athletes, they will always be part of the family that cheered them on, watched them grow, and celebrated them on the field. Mason will always be apart of the MVPW family. His memory as well as the love & light he left behind will never be forgotten.
This is so much bigger than football. This is bigger than rivalries, team colors, and the scoreboard. This is about family, loving one another, and showing up when it matters most. We may wear different colors and stand on opposite sidelines, but at the end of the day, we are one community and one football family. When one of our own is hurting, we stand together.
Please continue to keep Mason’s Mom, his family, friends, teammates and coaches in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to navigate this heartbreaking loss. Our hearts go out to you all. Check on one another, hug a little tighter, and give each other grace. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is simply be there for someone who is hurting.
