Beginning March 5, 2024, all Veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror or any other combat zone after 9/11 are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. In addition, Veterans who never deployed but were exposed to toxins or hazards while training or on active duty in the United States are eligible. The attached article explains more. If you have any questions or need help accessing benefits, please reach out to Vets Helping Vets and we can help walk you through the process.

VA has prepared this PACT Act Stakeholder Toolkit for you to use and share information about VA’s expansion of health care eligibility for Veterans.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Vets Helping Vets is looking for volunteers with a passion for helping veterans. You don't need to be a veteran or have any experience. We are specifically looking for volunteers who can help in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays anytime between 9-2, anyone interested in helping with the Wall of Honor, or anyone with experience in grant-writing or event planning. We are very flexible...volunteers can help as few or as many hours as you would like. If you have other skills you would like to share with us, please reach out. Please call 541-791-4357 or email [email protected]

We recently received a generous donation from a grateful veteran, who we assisted during the disability process...another success story. If you know a veteran who is ready to start the disability claim process or struggling in the middle of it, please refer them to Vets Helping Vets and our volunteers will assist.
