Weekly Challenge 6 - Ocean Pollution Sensory Bins

For week six, our passport kids learned all about whale sharks, the world's largest shark species. To honor whale sharks and the rest of our ocean life, the kids created sensory bins to simulate ocean pollution that threatens marine life.

Be sure to stop by the Albany Visitors Association this week to turn in your passport booklets!

Due to current and projected smoke conditions and out of concern for the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, sponsors, and staff, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this week's Fun in the Park event.

We know many families were looking forward to a morning of fun, and we share in your disappointment. However, the well-being of our community is our top priority, and we believe this is the most responsible decision given the current air quality.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you next week at Monteith Riverpark for the 2026 Fun in the Park finale.

Weekly Challenge 5 - Black-footed Ferret Puppets

For week five, our passport kids learned all about the Black-footed ferret, an endangered species that relies on prairie dogs for survival. To honor the black-footed ferret, the kids made their own puppets that replicated their likenesses in their natural habitats!

Weekly Challenge 4 - Ants on a Log 🐜

For week four, our passport kids learned all about Pangolins, a critically endangered species that uses its long tongue to eat ants and termites. To honor the pangolin, the kids made their own unique take on the classic "ants on a log" snack!

Bryant Family Farm is now CLOSED for the season! 🫐

If you still need to earn your stamp, visit the Power of Produce (PoP) Club booth at the Albany Farmers’ Market. The PoP Club booth has activities and tastings for all ages, as well as an option for kids ages 4-12 to choose a free fruit or vegetable. If your child participates at this booth in any way, they can report back to the Albany Visitors Association (AVA) office and tell us what they did to earn their Bryant Family Farm stamp. The PoP Club booth will NOT be stamping passports! The AVA staff will give you your stamp once you come in to turn in your passport booklets and have your stamps counted.

Weekly Challenge #3 - Wildflower Seed Bombs 🌼

Last week, our passport kids learned all about the importance of native wildflowers and how they benefit pollinators such as birds, bees, and butterflies. We tasked them with planting their own wildflowers by crafting these paper seed bombs!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Bryant Family Farm will be closed until Thursday, July 16, to allow their berries to ripen!

After they reopen, we recommend getting your stamp sooner rather than later, before blueberry season ends.

During your visit, be sure to take a picture with their incredible Giant Seahorse painting!

Weekly Challenge #2 - Bee Hotel 🐝

Last week, our passport kids learned all about Mason Bees and the important part they play in pollinating our Earth. We tasked them with creating their very own bee hotels to help protect these pollinators and provide them with safe habitats.
