CSC's mission is to be a community leader, providing vital services with collaborative partners to empower the people of Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties and the surrounding areas to positively transform lives. We offer a comprehensive array of services in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties, which focus on essential day-to-day survival, such as food and housing, as well as opportunities to devel

op new skills that lead to independence through education, training, and work. Whether you need help keeping the heat on for today or want help planning for that career of tomorrow, CSC is here to help. We believe that every family should have access to a stable home, nutritious food, quality education and training, and a job that pays a family wage. But we also realize that those things can be hard to get without some help along the way. We want to work with you, as a partner, to achieve your goal of a better life for you and your family. In all that we do, CSC provides help for today and skills for tomorrow. Since 1980 CSC has been part of a state and national network helping people and communities to thrive. Whether you need help or want to help, CSC is a place to start.

As we prepare for a new school year, we're inviting our community to help create welcoming spaces where children can learn and play.

Help us prepare our Head Start centers with safe playgrounds, manicured lawns, trimmed trees, clear walkways, and inviting outdoor spaces.

Because our program funding has limited resources for landscaping, we're asking caring community members to donate their time.

Locations include Newport, Lincoln City, and Toledo.

Volunteers should bring their own mowers, pruners, and other equipment.

Contact us to volunteer and help create 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 for local children and families.

Head Start of Lincoln County offers free, 5-star rated preschool education for children ages 3–4. Our program helps kids build the skills they need for kindergarten and beyond while supporting families with resources and care.

Who qualifies?
Children ages 3–4 by September 1, 2026 can apply. Priority is given to those with the greatest need, including children in foster care and families experiencing homelessness, receiving benefits (ERDC, SNAP, TANF), or living on a low income.
