Looking for an exciting way to put your coding skills and creativity to the test? The 2026 Hackathon Challenge is happening THIS SATURDAY, September 26, at Long Island University Brooklyn!

Presented by Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, this event is open to middle and high school students and gives young people the opportunity to build a project that can be entered into the 2026 Congressional App Challenge.

Through her work at Can Code Communities, Delma brings passion, compassion and dedication to helping people build the digital skills and confidence they need to succeed. Three years ago, Johnny Blevins quit his job to learn how to code.

Today, he works in IT as a Senior LAN Administrator for the New York State Appellate Division, Third Department.

“It’s just a machine.”

That may sound simple now, but taking the first step was scary for Julissa Ceballos.

After spending years raising her children and managing the symptoms of fibromyalgia, Julissa was ready to consider returning to work.
