Question, when a company asks you to “round up” when you are checking out, should we assume that the same company then donates the additional monies you contributed?
Assuming so, (1) is there any way to confirm when the donation is made? In other words, can the company use the donated funds all year (the float) and then make the donation on December 31st?, (2) does the company get the tax write-off associated with donating your monies? (3) is there any way for the consumer to verify when and to whom his or her funds were donated?
