Dear Community -

We have scheduled another protest because the message is clear: more people need to know what is happening before it’s too late.

Last week’s coverage in The Acorn shows the growing concern within the community about overdevelopment, strained infrastructure, and threatened evacuation routes. Residents are paying attention, but awareness must continue to grow.

So, we are standing together asking, practically begging, for responsible planning to protect our evacuation access and the safety of our community.

Join us. Show up. Speak out.📣

Last week in The Acorn it showed a lot about where our community stands.

The front page highlighted an event focused on wildfire preparedness co-hosted by the Calabasas Firewise team and the Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council.

While inside the paper, THREE separate letters from residents raising serious concerns about the overdevelopments, inadequate infrastructure, and our threatened evacuation routes.

People are paying attention. Wildfire preparedness cannot exist separately from responsible planning and safe evacuation access.

We will continue advocating for protected evacuation routes, infrastructure that keeps pace with growth, and development decisions that put community safety first.

Today we honor and remember all the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we also reflect on the importance of protecting the communities, landscapes, and freedoms they fought to preserve 🌿

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day 🇺🇲

What's happening in Agoura Hills should be a warning to every community!

Residents in communities all throughout California are raising the same concerns we have been sounding the alarm about for years: overdevelopment, inadequate infrastructure, and evacuation routes pushed beyond safe limits.

Public safety can not be treated as an afterthought. Communities deserve responsible planning that prioritizes evacuation access and infrastructure before approving massive new developments.

We stand with all California residents fighting to protect their evacuation and road access. These concerns are not isolated, and the risks are very real.

99 condos+ in a small, rural town of Penngrove (2,123 residents), in Sonoma County. As many as 990 new car trips per day (state estimate) on their narrow country road. There isn't even a stop light at the intersection with the highway. What could go wrong here?

Last Wednesday’s Agoura Hills City Council meeting raised serious concerns 🚨

Earlier in the meeting, a resident pointed out errors in the evacuation analysis figures. In this video, the consultant acknowledges the numbers are wrong.

Then came the explanation: "Other households would need to use other routes, including along Mulholland to Las Virgenes.” The crowd is heard groaning and was immediately told to quiet down.

The reaction isn’t disrespect. It is disbelief!

Anyone expecting 66% of evacuating vehicles from Cornell to take Mulholland during a wildfire is not realistic. Residents who actually live here know that.

What is the point of the community showing up and participating in these meetings if the City Council refuses to listen to the people who will be evacuating in a real emergency?

Our community is paying attention 👍

Thank you to everyone helping to shine a light on the importance of protecting our evacuation routes and keeping public safety at the center of these decisions.

Thank you so much Abigail Velez, ABC7 and ABC7 🙏

We truly appreciate the news coverage on the City’s public hearing regarding the evacuation analysis and why so many residents continue to speak out.

Public safety and infrastructure must come with development, and residents should be concerned that it's not. Especially when the community is already up against overdevelopment concerns.

We will continue advocating for safe evacuation access for our community.

The Agoura Hills community is pushing back on the potential construction of more than 1,000 new apartment units over concerns that it will make evacuating during fires even more dangerous.

Please read and share!

Neighborhoods all over California are losing their voice while Sacramento gives developers more power to build larger projects without infrastructure to support them.

Communities, near and far, deserve safe roads, schools, transit, and the right to be heard about what’s happening next door.

Our community is being heard! 🔊

The Acorn newspaper covered our protest against the City’s overdevelopment plans and growing concerns from the community over evacuation safety in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Residents have come together to send a clear message:

Public Safety Must Come Before Development

We are extremely grateful to every neighbor, volunteer, and supporter who has shown up, carried signs, spoke out, and helped bring attention to this very important issue.

Momentum is growing and we can not and will not back down 👍

It was just a normal day traveling through the Santa Monica Mountains.

Look 👀 at the backup of cars! 🚗

Imagine what it would like like with all the new developments the City of Agoura Hills - Government is proposing at the intersection of Kanan and Agoura Roads!

Now, take it a step further and imagine what this would look like during an evacuation ⚠️

We are incredibly grateful to our community 💚

Your voice, presence, and unwavering support made it clear that protecting our neighborhood and keeping our evacuation routes clear is not optional, it is essential.

All the signs we held, the posts we've shared, and the conversations we're having has helped start pushing back against these overdevelopments that put lives at risk.

Our community is strong and unafraid to stand up for safety!

Thank you for standing with us 🙏
