This is a great opportunity for young sportsmen.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Allatoona Lake Operations Project Management Office announced yesterday that an archery-only deer hunt for youth sportsmen will take place Dec. 5-6 at McKinney Campground.
To be eligible for the youth hunt, participants must be under 16 years of age at the time of the event.
Wildlife Action will assign each hunting area by lottery during Safety Day on Nov. 21. Safety Day is mandatory to participate in the hunt. A parent or guardian must accompany each youth hunter. Each parent or guardian must possess a valid Georgia Big Game License but may not hunt. All federal and state hunting laws and regulations will also apply.
Reservations will be made by phone Monday through Friday, starting at 8:00 a.m. Oct. 12, until noon on Nov. 23, or until all spaces are filled. Available spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
