"My name is Lilian Dawa Obuyu from East Seme in Kadol location Kisumu.
I am a mother of 5 children and the sole breadwinner.
I sell charcoal and work on peoples farms to earn my income and fend for my children.
It is never easy to support a large family by myself, I have to keep going though because am all they have.
Manna’s widow caregiver team have been visiting me regularly and are always a shoulder to lean on.
They have been extremely helpful to me especially during my vulnerable moments.
There was a time I was really sick and my children also. I was not able to do basic duties such as doing laundry, fetch firewood and water.
The team came and helped to wash my clothes and children clothes, fetched water for my family and even weeded my shamba. I was so relieved and encouraged.
They have always shown me a lot of love and give me hope for tomorrow.
I know that I have a support system from the caregivers who will always be a rock for me.
Also, whenever they come, we have a great time to fellowship and read the word of God.
We read a scripture and discuss the word of God. This always makes my day.
By the time they leave, am always encouraged and uplifted. If I was depressed and sad, they leave me feeling joyful. I thank God so much for this team.
I can only pray that God blesses the widows caregiver team and sustain them.

Lilian is one among 350 widows being supported by Manna through a partnership with All For His Glory Ministries

In addition to regular visits to their homes by a widows caregiver team, the widows are given food supplies every single month. They are also equipped with other household item such as solar lamps and economy stove.
This has helped to ease the burden of the widows who earn very little through manual work.
