Say it with me! “I am kind. I am strong. I will do great things.”

As an Emerson Elementary alum, having the opportunity to return and speak to students through the Encourage Kids to Greatness Program was truly a full-circle moment. 💙

I shared stories about my time at Emerson, from helping teachers and students as a teacher’s aide, to the lessons on kindness, encouragement, and leadership that shaped who I am today. I even shared how some of my closest friendships began during my years at Emerson and continue to this day.

The students were AMAZING, engaged, thoughtful, full of energy, and they even asked me to come back and be their teacher 😂❤️. Moments like this remind me just how important it is to pour into the next generation and help young people believe in themselves early.

I’m so grateful to Mr. Charles Phillips, Founder of the Encourage Kids to Greatness Program, and Jennifer Williams, Executive Director of United Way of Bartow County for the invitation and for the incredible work they are doing to encourage, uplift, and inspire students across our community.

The experience filled my heart in ways I can’t fully put into words.

Our volunteers are the heart behind everything we do. 💜

During Volunteer Application Month, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible people who show up, give their time, and pour so much love into our mission.

Whether you’re packing bags, unloading trucks, greeting families, or lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed—you are the reason we can serve our community the way we do.

Because of you, we are truly sharing love by sharing food. ❤️🚪

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
2026 Weekend of Events | Cartersville • Bartow County

Join us as we come together to remember, celebrate, and act during the 2026 MLK Weekend of Events, honoring the life, legacy, and leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This powerful weekend includes a Candlelight Service honoring Dr. King’s legacy, a Youth Rally uplifting and empowering our young leaders, the MLK March and Wreath Laying Ceremony, and a Brotherhood Program focused on unity, service, and community.

We are honored to welcome an inspiring group of speakers, including Paula Canty Cobb, Ethan Upshaw, Pastor Michael Daniel, and Mayor Matt Santini as Grand Marshal.

A special focus this year is youth engagement. Dr. King believed deeply in the power of young people, and we are committed to creating spaces where our youth are seen, heard, and encouraged to lead.

This year also marks a meaningful transition in leadership. 2026 is my first year serving as Chairperson of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee, and I am honored to follow in the footsteps of Ms. Linda Kellogg, whose dedication and leadership helped shape this celebration for many years. I am excited and grateful to lead this incredible group of committed community members as we continue this important work together.

This celebration is made possible through community support. All donations and sponsorships directly support our MLK Scholarship Program, benefiting students across our community and helping us invest in education, leadership, and the future.

If you would like to make a donation or become a sponsor, please contact:

✨ ONE Bartow Adopt-A-Family Christmas Drive ✨

Let’s Make Christmas Brighter for a Deserving Family

It’s that time of year when ONE Bartow has the honor of adopting a local family for Christmas. Every year, we keep the names confidential to protect the family’s privacy, but we can tell you this:

This family has been walking through a life-changing crisis.
Their daughter has been hospitalized for several months after a sudden medical emergency. She remains on a ventilator, and the strength, sacrifice, and resilience this mom, dad, and their other children have shown is nothing short of extraordinary.

While we won’t share personal details out of respect, we can share this:
This family has carried more than any family should ever have to bear.
And together, we can lift some of that weight, if only for a moment, by giving them a Christmas filled with love, warmth, and hope.

Our tran has already secured many of the items on their wish list, and the community has stepped up in a beautiful way. But we still have a number of needs to fill, and we would love your help to make sure every child and their parents feel seen, supported, and celebrated this holiday season.

Remaining Gift Needs:
(See the item list in this post. Completed items will be removed as we go.)

In addition

Medical travel to Atlanta, Chattanooga, and surrounding areas has become overwhelming, and transportation alone is placing tremendous pressure on the family’s ability to keep up with basic household needs. Gas cards are a top need right now to help this family travel to ongoing medical appointments.

If you’d like to purchase an item from the list, donate gas cards, or make a donation, please message our page or reach out at [email protected]. No amount is too small.

Thank you for helping us wrap this family in love during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
This is what community is all about.
