Amazing Mutts and Wiggle Butts

Amazing Mutts and Wiggle Butts A small foster based rescue located in Acworth, Georgia helping local dogs that need us the most. When a family of pups is in need we help the whole family.

The Amazing Mutts and Wiggle Butts difference
We will help when we can and where we can. Often times those dogs in our local community that need us the most.

-All of our dogs are in loving foster homes where they can learn best what it is to be a part of the family; we never board our babies.

-Each dog that does through our rescue will have Lifetime membership. If they need to come back for a

ny reason we welcome them with open arms.

-Ohana means family and family means no one is left behind or forgotten.

My coworkers today-
These sweet girls have been buddies since birth. Adopted as a sibling pair and then returned a few months later.
We are getting them uptodate on their vetting (again) and will be looking for a home where they can stay together.
Born 2/15, they are now 6 months old, sweet and social. They enjoy lounging around the house/office and just being nearby.
Spayed, combo tested negative, and vaccinated.

Meet Darla!
She is a one year old…
Yorkie Doodle? Schnauzer doodle?
Not sure, but just another unwanted doodle.

Was her doodle energy too much?
Was the grooming too expensive?
Did the breeder say she was hypoallergenic and then someone had an allergic reaction?
Was she suppose to be a mini, toy size and got too large at 15 ish lbs?

We won’t know. She was dropped off at Animal control in her plastic kennel, the dropper offer claimed she was just paid to deliver, when asked for her drivers license, she went to the car and never came back in.

Darla was not socialized well around other dogs, and she is too playful for many of the dogs in her foster home. She needs slow introductions and would need to meet any potential housemates prior to being adopted. She would also do well in a single dog home.

She loves her toys! She is very treat motivated. Crate trained and house trained. working on leash walking skills.

Maisey watching her family drive away…
It’s always such a sad thing when an owner surrenders their dog.
They just don’t understand.
Maisey had been part of the family since she was a young pup, but in less than a year, things dramatically changed.
Someone new was coming to live in the home who had a medical condition that included chronic open wounds and the environment needed to be as sterile as possible. Dog hair and dander was not part of the medical plan.
They tried their best to find a home with family and/or friends. They even got her caught up with vaccines, and had her fixed so she was ready to be rehomed, but time had ran out and she needed a spot quick.
We heard of her situation on Tuesday when in line at the spay/neuter clinic. It took a few days, but we found a foster!!!!

Maisey needs to fine tune her skills, she needs to learn how to walk on Leash and build her confidence. With just a little time and training, she will be an amazing additional to any family.

Welcome to Rescue Maisey Love!

Meet Beau!
Beau is a beautiful boy that was rescued last week from Cherokee animal control. He was scared at the shelter and overwhelmed by all of the other dogs there. He came to rescue last week and has done amazing!!! Our first task was to get him vaccinated and then groomed. Often time I am asked why do we shave a rescued dog all the way down??? Many times when a dog is matted, the skin underneath is also not in good condition. Under that coat, moisture can get trapped causing a bacterial infection. But shave down to the skin, we can get a good look on things, treat and keep an eye on things as they heal.
As you can see Beau has red inflamed skin throughout which we are treating with medicated baths and antibiotics. We also have him on good quality salmon based food to rule out any food allergies.
Beau will need some time for his skin to heal, his cold to clear and then he is heading to the clinic to be neutered. During his time in foster care, we will work with him on socialization and building confidence.

As a foster based rescue, dogs are not pulled from the shelter or surrendered to the rescue without a home to go to.
Why a home, because the best way for a dog to be forever home ready is to be in a home.

Recently we have been asked to help…

That Henry County, Alabama case… a mom and two puppies (3 of the 10 survivors) are looking for a place to land.
Mom is a beagle mix and puppies are 4 months old. Ideally we would like mom and pups fostered separately so she can start taking care of herself. She has protected her babies their whole lives which is why they survived when so many others perished in the home.

A young doodle who is now 100 lbs and much larger than grammie and gramps can handle. He needs someone who will teach him some manners, he is now an overgrown young adult with a lot of puppy stuff- still jumping up on people and knocking them over.

A 12 year old senior chi who lost her home - a family member took her in, but she is not getting along with the Great Dane in the home, and just needs a safe place to land.

and at spay and neuter last week a couple in tears 😭 a family member is moving in with medical issue. Large open wounds require a sterile environment and the dog hair and dander is not ideal. They are doing everything right by this baby, including getting her fixed and they have been unable to find a spot and time has ran out.

You provide a safe place and some good loving and the rescue covers the rest.

You must be local, our adoption events and vet offices are in Acworth (and the surrounding areas)

There is a foster application.

We need to know if your current pets are up to date, spayed/neutered, and on preventions.

Home checks are required.

*please consider dogs are not adopted quickly in today’s animal crisis. A foster dog could potentially be in your home for weeks/months while getting the vetting they need and finding a forever home.
If you are looking for a weekend check out, a few of the local shelters have great programs for just that.

*Fostering tough, it’s emotional, and not for everyone. If you would rather adopt, we have many amazing options! Adopting will open a spot in one of our fluent foster homes which helps us say yes to one of these loves!

Teddy Miller is a young guy, currently around 9-10 months old. Currently 45 lbs and estimated to be about 50 lbs full grown.

A bonus dog from Clayton County. We were prepared to commit to Claude and in the process of looking for his info, we saw a video of an absolutely terrified "Ted" cowering in a kennel and knew we couldn't leave him in there. Now he doesn't even look like the same dog. He's grown some. He's happy and playful and has those big ears up all the time.

He "talks" which is a husky thing, so he could have a little husky. He's also a nibbler. He likes to climb half his body into your lap and gently nibble your chin, ears or hands. Foster mom has a little rhyme she sings to him: Teddy Miller is a gentle nibbler. He is such a great dog and likes everyone he meets, both dogs and people. He is doing great with crate training. He does well on leash in familiar situations, like around his foster home, but freezes up in new situations.

He will need some patience and a little work before he is comfortable in other settings. At this time we are asking for a home with a fenced in yard to potty and play in, however this can change as he goets more comfortable walking and pottying on leash. He would also do best in a home with another dog to take the lead and show him around.

adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms.

Susie is having a “Pitty Party”. She’s getting old in rescue, and all she wants is a lap to lay her head on and someone to scratch behind her ears.

She was estimated to be 5 years old October 2024 when we pulled her from the shelter. And almost 2 years later, she is still looking for a place to call home.

Susie is great with people, but she has had conflict with some of the dogs in her foster home.
Being one of many fosters and new dogs coming and going is tough on her and she spends more time in her crate than we would like her too.

We would love to see Susie in an adoptive home, or a foster home with less traffic where she can spend her golden years.

This Love…
Two speeds lay on the couch cuddling and go, go, go!

Lynne was in rescue before. We found her an amazing home! They loved her so much, did a great job socializing her and taught her some tricks.

Then, the baby came and Lynne did not do well with the new adjustments. Like many small dogs, she is just not good with small kids.

So she is on the hunt for a new home, without small kids. We would like to see her have a fenced in yard to play in.

She loves ball, toys and treats!
She can spend all day pulling toys from the bucket and spreading them through out the house. She has no problem keeping herself entertained.

She loves people, but could be too much energy for some people, couch potatoes should not apply.

She is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash with lots of enthusiasm always ready for a new adventure.
