This year we had two members from our Foundation Board of Directors term out, Danielle Oliver and Judon Reinbold. We are grateful to the both of you for your years of service and dedication to Safe Harbor!!
Our Foundation Board exists to help the agency as a whole financially. This is the board that puts on our Mardi Gras Gala each year. Which is a TON of fun but also requires a TON of work and countless volunteer hours. These two ladies were one of the many that put these hours in and they did it for 6 years!💜

💛🍋 ABERDEEN, LOOK WHAT YOU DID! 🍋💛

We finally had a chance to deliver all of the items from our Safe Harbor Wish List donation from Malchow’s Saturday Market — and LOOK at all of this! 🥹💛

And the best part?

All of these essentials were purchased because YOU showed up and bought Lemon + Aid. 🍋

That’s it. You came for lemonade, and together we turned a Saturday at the market into boxes and boxes of things Safe Harbor needed. 🫶

Safe Harbor provides a safe and secure temporary place for adults and children fleeing violent situations, with their emergency shelter staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

While someone is staying there, Safe Harbor provides food and laundry facilities, personal advocacy, help finding safe housing, assistance with deposits and first month’s rent, household furnishings, employment resources and help obtaining protection orders when needed. 💜

And something we LOVE — Safe Harbor added on-site pet apartments, giving survivors an option to keep their pets close rather than having to leave them behind. 🐾💜

Sometimes buying a lemonade doesn’t feel like you’re doing anything huge.

But THIS is what can happen when a whole community does a little bit of good together.

This is exactly why the + Aid is in our name. 💛🍋

Thank you, Aberdeen, for continuing to show up for our little stand and, in turn, helping us show up for our community.

You bought the LemonAid. Together, we gave the Aid. 🍋💛

At Safe Harbor, we provide safety, support, and hope to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Every safe night, every resource provided, every person who feels heard, and every step toward a new beginning matters. 💜
