Call for Art: Aberdeen Area Pride Art Exhibition 2026 🌈

Artists are invited to submit work for the
Aberdeen Area Pride Art Exhibition
hosted at Red Rooster Coffee House Gallery.

Exhibition Dates: June 1 – July 4, 2026

This exhibition celebrates LGBTQ+ creativity, expression, and community through visual art. Artists are encouraged to submit work exploring identity, belonging, love, resistance, joy, and the many colors of pride.

Submission Deadline: May 18
Entry Fee: None

All submissions will be juried by Epiphany Knedler and Tim Rickets of Midwest Nice Arts, an Aberdeen-based arts collective.

Artist Reception: June 26 at 6 PM
Join us to meet the artists and celebrate the exhibition together.

🏳️‍🌈Now accepting submissions for the 2026 Aberdeen Area Pride tshirt design contest!

Have you ever wanted someone to look at your design and say, "Wow, that's a cool shirt! I NEED TO GET ONE?!?!" Now's your chance! The winner of this contest will have their design featured on the 2026 Pride shirts, and they'll also win a few shirts of their own to wear, share, or stare at with great admiration.

Submit your designs to [email protected] before March 31 😎

📝Rules and Guidelines:
-Absolutely NO AI generated images should be submitted.
-Please include the text "Aberdeen Area Pride" in your design.
-Submissions are encourage to relate to Aberdeen, Aberdeen Area Pride, or South Dakota.
-Traditional and digital art submissions are both welcomed.
-All applicants must provide their contact information with their submission.
-Designs can be created by an individual or a group.
-Winner(s) will be credited on our social media pages and will receive a free shirt.

🏳️‍🌈LGBTQ+ students in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, or Wisconsin:

Applications for 2026 scholarships through PFund are now open!

This year, Aberdeen Area Pride has a dedicated scholarship for students from or attending school in South Dakota. All applicants will be eligible for all scholarships that apply to them, not just ours!

On Saturday, June 21 we have a WHOLE DAY of Pride activities! Join us at City Lights Bar and Event Center for vendors, live music, and a FREE drag show and story hour! Vendors will be open 1-5pm, and doors for the 21+ Drag Show will open at 7pm! You can still get tickets for that show at aberdeenareapride.org

Did you see the 2025 Aberdeen Pride Festival starts TOMORROW? 💅🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Join us at the Red Rooster Coffee House to kick off our weekend! All events on June 20 will be at the Red Rooster.

All our events this weekend are FREE and ALL AGES except for the 21+ Drag Show on Saturday, June 21. You can still buy tickets for that show at aberdeenareapride.org!
