Being an active father who loves to SurfSkate and spend time with his family, Mr Collins is an epitome of perseverance and devotion as a parent to his two children.
For this Fatherโs Day, his wife and two children talk about their favourite moments with Mr Collins, who is coping with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Mr Collins also personally shares how his own father has supported him on this journey.
ALS is a progressive disease in which a personโs brain loses connection with the muscles, slowly affecting the ability to walk, talk and eat. As a way to communicate with his family and our Care Associates, Mr Collins uses an eye tracker device which translates gaze into actionable commands, making it possible for him to put his thoughts into readable text.
Thank you Mr Collins and family for sharing such precious memories with us. Wishing all fathers a Happy Fatherโs Day!
