At the launch of Support a Block @ South East, I was heartened to see kindness show up in small but meaningful ways.

Today, more than 300 families went home with $100 worth of essential groceries each, and this was made possible by our corporate ‘Friends’ from Acalpo and Korea Development Bank.

As a we-first society, no one should have to face their challenges alone, and this initiative reflects our commitment.

Support a Block @ South East is just getting started, and I hope to see this spirit of care grow as we reach more residents in the months ahead.

Mayor Dinesh Vasu Dash தினேஷ் வாசு தாஸ் 迪內希 said, “Law Awareness Weeks @ CDC is about bringing law closer to residents in a practical and accessible way; making sure that when residents face difficult situations, they are aware that there are people and pathways to guide them and they don’t have to navigate legal challenges alone.”

This year, tertiary students came together and worked alongside legal professionals and community partners through the Access to Justice Community (A2J) Co-Lab to develop solutions based on identified community needs.

South East CDC is proud of our winning team, MajuLaw (by SUSS students). The team built an AI-powered online triaging system to help Muslim families navigate routine administrative guidance on estate succession while identifying and redirecting more complex cases to legal clinics specializing in Syariah law.

Over the next five weeks, residents can take part in legal talks, webinars and legal clinics across Singapore to learn more about their rights and available help: https://www.cdc.gov.sg/common-flagship-programmes/law-awareness/

Join us on to turn your walks into supermarket vouchers for seniors in need! 🍎🍞🍳

Until 31 Oct 2026, every 1km you walk turns into a $1 supermarket voucher for senior beneficiaries in the South East District – fully funded by the generosity of our corporate and individual donors.

Together, we’re aiming for 200,000km walked, to support up to 2,000 seniors with $100 supermarket vouchers each!

Here’s how to participate:

1️⃣ Clock your distance walked with any tracker apps on your smartphone
2️⃣ Screenshot your km walked
3️⃣ Upload your screenshot and submit your mileage details to https://go.gov.sg/wfh2026

Your daily walks to the MRT, evening walks after dinner and weekly runs – they can all make an impact!

Every km counts, so let’s start walking 🧡

Had a wonderful time at the Maybank Silver Buddies @ South East Anniversary Celebration 2026, together with South East CDC - Your Social Broker, Mayor Dinesh Vasu Dash தினேஷ் வாசு தாஸ் 迪內希.

It was heartwarming to see more than 400 seniors and 30 Maybank volunteers come together to celebrate a year of friendship and partnership.

From games and performances to beautiful handmade gifts by our seniors, the day was filled with laughter, appreciation and meaningful connections.

This is what CDCs do — bringing people, businesses and resources together to support the needs of our community and build stronger connections.
