🤔 Is choosing your first CARRIER proving to be overwhelming? Then this post if for you. 🫵
What we want everyone to have in mind is there is no "standard best" that anyone can recommend specifically for you, kasi best is very subjective to: what you will like, which is more comfortable and what fits your lifestyle po. Only you can find what's the best safety-tested and ergonomic carrier for you and baby as you go along with your babywearing journey.
Picking a carrier may be overwhelming lalo if first time parent and first time din na magkakaroon ng knowledge with babywearing. There are a lot of types and brands, but it will all boil down to baby's anatomy and your preference based on your lifestyle.
Here are tips to help you narrow-down your options, and successfully pick your starter carrier:
1. First thing's first. As long as you're picking from safety-tested and ergonomic carriers, rest assured you're picking from the correct options. 💯
2. What type of carrier are you looking to buy as your first? Structured ba, woven/stretchy wrap or ringsling. Just choose one for now and stick on it while you're still navigating babywearing in general. Madali na po pumili or bumili ng ibang klase ng carrier after having an experience of using one. ✌🏻
3. Your baby's anatomy and age, and yours as well should be considered first to ensure na magagamit niyo ang carrier na mapipili niyo.
For the wearer, your height, torso and size should be put into equation because it will maximize both you and baby's comfort.
Baby's age, weight and height should play the biggest role into picking kasi may carrier na NON-ADJUSTABLE (fits certain age, weight and height regardless of what was marketed, and also tailored to fit specific ages) and ADJUSTABLE ones (fits usually from 3.5kg and up to 2 yr old depending on your baby's growth). 👈🏻
4. Set a budget on mind. Don't do a "no limit" budget po because this would open you up to a looooooot of options, which gets most of first timers overwhelmed. 😵 Hindi naman po dahil may budget ay dapat sundin na 100%. It just need to be your ground into narrowing your options. Tsaka na po mag no-budget-limit kapag magko-collect or hoard na. 🤑
