Save the Children Philippines

Save the Children Philippines Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. We ensure children’s unique needs are met and their voices are heard.

In the Philippines and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach. We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.

Children deserve the time and space to simply be children.

In 2025, together with our partners, we reached 1.5 million children and adults—supporting health, learning, protection, participation, and emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.

Inside our Annual Report are the stories behind the numbers, shaped by children like Aina, Yana, Sara, Justin, and Andre—and many more.

This Earth Day 🌏, we listen.

Children are already feeling the impact of the climate crisis, but they also have ideas worth hearing.

With Xia Vigor, we share a simple message: protecting our planet means listening to children, too.

Each day, Anisa*, 11, is carried to school by her parents.

Beyond her determination to go to school, she still struggled to read at an early age. By becoming a part of Catch-Up Clubs, a play-based reading remediation program, Anisa discovers that learning is for everyone, no matter the challenges they face.

In celebration of National Literature Month, Anisa’s story reminds us that with the right support, children don’t just catch up— they thrive.

Climate action starts in our communities. 🌱 And children are already taking part. 🌏💚

In Antipolo City, Green Eco Warriors are helping protect the environment through simple but meaningful actions. They raise awareness, reduce waste, and respond to climate risks that affect their daily lives, including flooding and pollution.

Their efforts remind us that protecting the planet is not just for tomorrow. It is something we all need to act on today.

This Earth Hour, let’s do our part. Switch off the lights and take action that supports a safer, more resilient future for every child.

Yeng* (not her real name), 14, felt safer hidden.

As a victim-survivor of sexual abuse, she distanced herself from her community after facing judgment that deepened her feelings of guilt and shame.

Her story reflects the reality of many adolescent girls, and the urgent role communities must play in ensuring that every child is protected, supported, and free from stigma.

Through family sessions and strengthened referral systems, Save the Children continues to work with communities to uphold children’s rights and ensure safe, respectful access to essential services.

Let’s continue to encourage children to seek help and support.

As social media becomes part of daily life, Filipino children, especially girls targeted by strangers online, face growing risks, prompting the government to push for stronger protection measures.

Recently, Congress has proposed several bills that would restrict social media access for children up to age 18.

While Save the Children Philippines recognizes the lawmakers’ intent to address rising online risks, keeping children safe online goes beyond limiting their access to platforms that support learning, expression, and connection.

It starts with listening to children and taking their views seriously.

In 2024, Save the Children led a global study with 604 children, including 99 from the Philippines recommended solutions how to help them:

For Sophia, saying "no" is an act of protection.

At 17, she learned that setting boundaries is not a weakness, but a sign of courage. Now 19, she chooses herself and uses her voice to advocate for safe spaces and informed choices for young people.

This Girl Child Week, we stand with Sophia in affirming the importance of consent—because every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected.

Access to accurate information and safe, youth-friendly services is essential for every young person.

This Girl Child Week, we stand with adolescents in calling for stronger, more accessible, and age- and development-appropriate adolescent sexual and reproductive health services, so they can make informed choices, stay safe, and build the futures they deserve.

Because supporting young people with knowledge is not optional, it is protection.

𝗨𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗦𝗥𝗛: 𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻. 💜
This year’s Girl Child Week 2026 highlights the importance of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)—a critical issue that directly impacts the health, safety, and future of young people.

ASRH equips adolescents with the knowledge, skills, and access to services they need to make safe, informed, and responsible decisions about their
bodies and relationships. It also plays a key role in preventing early pregnancy, reducing health risks, and protecting young people from abuse
and exploitation.

In the Philippines, gaps in knowledge and access to services continue to put adolescents at risk. Studies show that many young people still lack comprehensive, accurate information on sexual and reproductive health, limiting their ability to make informed choices.

Investing in ASRH means empowering young people to stay healthy, pursue their education, and reach their full potential.
