A relationship can add happiness to your life, but it cannot permanently create happiness for you.
If you are unhappy with yourself, constantly searching for someone to fill an emotional void can make relationships feel like a solution to problems they were never designed to solve.
A partner can love you, support you, encourage you, and share beautiful experiences with you.
But they cannot become responsible for your entire sense of worth, purpose, or peace.
Being single can be an opportunity to learn how to enjoy your own company. It gives you space to understand yourself, build confidence, pursue your goals, strengthen your friendships, and figure out what you actually want from a relationship.
You should not need another person to convince you that you are valuable.
And you should not enter a relationship expecting someone else to rescue you from loneliness, insecurity, or dissatisfaction with your own life.
This does not mean you have to be perfectly happy before you deserve love. Everyone has difficult seasons, and relationships can be a meaningful source of support.
But there is a difference between wanting someone to share your happiness with and needing someone to create it for you.
Build a life you enjoy while you are alone.
Then find someone who complements that life rather than someone you expect to complete it.
The healthiest relationships are not two people desperately trying to fill each other's emptiness.
They are two people who have their own identities, goals, and sense of self, choosing to build something meaningful together.
"If you aren't happy single, you won't be happy in a relationship. True happiness comes from within, not from someone else."
