Summer’s here, volunteers! ☀️⛱️

As we all bask under the scorching heat of the sun, let the warm feeling remind us of the warmth our childhoods kept 📦🌅

For 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹’𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we answer the question “Looking back, what made your summers as a child truly special, and how can you now share that with other kids today?”

From beach trips, family traditions, to the simple joys of Filipino summers — each of us definitely had a story of our own. 🎞️🐚

“Do it for the little kid that lives within you.” 🧸✨

As we raise awareness to Mental Health this month, may we remind ourselves to be more gentle to ourselves as the little "you" lives within.

🛝Like every child, you deserve to be heard, comforted, and held. Whatever you’ve been through or the roads you are now paving — we are proud of you.

Mental health matters at every age, and no child should ever feel alone in what they carry. So, may we become people who listen with kindness, speak with understanding, and remind others that their feelings are valid and their stories matter. 🫂💙

This poem is a tribute to the mothers who lost their sons and daughters to the violence of war. We owe them our gratitude and our prayers as their love is stronger than the iron against them. 🕊️❤️‍🩹

Tunay na sining, pag-asa ang kislap sa mga matang nagniningning." ✨

Last May 3, 2026, the UST Volunteers for UNICEF (UVU) brought out the creativity and joy of the children at the Ministry on Urban Poor, Diocese of Kalookan, through the launch of Batang Mataliknows: Adhika para sa Pansariling Likha. 🎨📚

With little hands and big dreams, the kids engaged in activities that sparked their imaginations and empowered them to express their unique talents. It was a beautiful day of learning, art, and discovering the true power of their own "pansariling likha." 💙💛

Indeed, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 are not afraid to color outside the lines 🖍️💙

Sa bawat batang mahusay at may talento, may isang komunidad na naniwala sa kanilang obra at kwento 🎨 Last May 3, 2026, UST Volunteers for UNICEF successfully held Batang Mataliknows 2026: Adhika Para sa Pansariling Likha 🐾

Together with the Ministry on Urban Poor - Diocese of Kalookan, limitless possibilities came to life through colors, strokes, and imagination, showing us what kids can do when given the right space and resources 🖍️

Thank you to our Project Heads, volunteers, and staff who came together and brought their own purposeful hues into one canvas of advocacy 🖼️

According to the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR), there were 184 cases of attacks and threats against Filipino journalists between 2022 and 2025. 42% of these were perpetrated by state actors. 🌏

Keeping abreast of social issues and current events requires critical thought, with unfiltered news as the main source. Through freedom of the press, we can build a world for children where critical thinking is valued as a result of access to information. 🧠

Press freedom is vital to national progress. Defend press freedom! 📝
