Rosa’s friend invited her to work at a food stall to make some extra cash. Rosa was barely getting by as a waitress, so she accepted. But as soon as she arrived at the location of the new job, she knew something was wrong.
There was no food stall. Instead, she was pressured to enter a large hotel without knowing what would happen inside. Rosa immediately resisted and tried to fight back; she’d heard about what happened in places like this and wanted no part of it.
But an adult woman grabbed her arm and forced her into the building, bruising her as she was shoved inside.
Rosa’s mind panicked at the thought of what awaited her as she was dragged deeper into the hotel. Her fears were well-founded: the woman was a human trafficker and planned to sell Rosa for s*x to foreign customers that night, along with other girls.
But then, everything changed.
Police rushed into the building. The trafficker was arrested, and Rosa and the other victims were ushered to safety by gentle caseworkers.
The “foreign customers” were actually undercover Destiny Rescue agents, working with police to take down the traffickers who tried to exploit Rosa and other girls.
Rosa has since moved on with her life. She finished school and got a job, but hasn’t forgotten what she escaped that day.
