In 24 hours, the Carterton Sky Tower team is set to tackle the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge. Our team is scheduled to climb between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m. You can watch a live stream of the event; there is a link in the comments below. Stay tuned for updates from our team. Today, the Carterton and Greytown SkyTower teams completed a challenging training session at the Cape Palliser lighthouse, climbing over 1000 stairs while wearing full Level 2 uniform and Breathing Apparatus weighing around 25kg. The team ascended the stairs four times, closely replicating the 1103 stairs they will climb on May 23rd, demonstrating their dedication to their community’s and

The challenge today was climbing Mount Dick with Nadene, Shelley, and Harry from the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade. The climb was tough but we reached the top and enjoyed the experience with our neighbouring brigade. Today, our third team member from the Carterton Fire Brigade SkyTower Team, Jane, embarked on a challenge to the picturesque Cape Palliser lighthouse, where she tackled the staircase, completing the trip to the top four times, totalling 1012 steps in both directions.
She was very grateful for the words of encouragement and support from everyone she met today, and proud to do her part fundraising for such a worthy cause.

Huge morning for Tamara and Justin, taking on the Rocky Lookout at Mount Holdsworth in structural firefighting gear and breathing apparatus training sets, weighing approximately 25kg.
