🌷Dixie is Adopted🌷
This lovely older lady just landed on her feet.

She originally was a stray kitten who got adopted to a lovely home but fell in love with a neighbour so spent most of her life there with the blessing of her original mum.

Many years later when her dad/neighbour passed away she was unable to return to her original mum so came into the rescue. She was very depressed & understandably so. But she tried very hard to be brave & slowly she did get better & better here.

Until, a lovely angel found room in her home and heart after loosing her previous older kitty.

Dixie is already in love with her new mum & has been working her way onto her mum's lap & bed already.

Her new room mate, a distinguished older gentle boy, has said hello & they look like they're being very respectful of each other's spaces.

Go well Dixie Chic❤️ your a beautiful soft older lady who deserves this loving home to retire in.

Thanks so much to Georgina for adopting this lovely older lady & thank you to everyone who's donated while she was in my care.

FIP- New online resource 😻💻

Only a few years ago, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) was considered an almost universally fatal disease. Today, this has changed dramatically. With prompt diagnosis and appropriate antiviral treatment, the majority of cats can now be expected to survive and return to a normal quality of life.

Success depends on early diagnosis and early treatment. Cats that begin treatment before they become critically ill have the highest chance of long-term remission, with reported success rates commonly exceeding 85–90% across published studies.

Our Internal Medicine team has been actively involved in research into FIP treatments in New Zealand, including studies investigating oral remdesivir, and continues to provide advice to veterinarians throughout New Zealand.

We've updated our online resource to reflect the latest in research, and guide pet owners and veterinarians around the country with knowledge around how to tackle FIP.

Check out the resource online here:

🐈HUGE EFFORT FOR DESEX DAY🐈‍⬛️
💓big thanks to the amazing vet team at HUHANZ for the help they give other smaller rescues like Wainui Whiskers.

Today they took the best care of 16 beautiful felines & carried out desexing, microchips & vaccinations for all.

It was so nice to see Delwyn of CPL assisting today's efforts which was monumental for our community kitties & for me🥰

This support saves lives & I am so very thankful for the help & support.

These kits will be available for adoption next week if your considering adoption please text me 0274-905-395 so I can call you to arrange a meeting with kittys.

(Females will be cleared for release after a 14 day post op check)
