Chorus night on the 27 of April had us moving around our new venue. 💃
Jean was on vocal exercises and had our brains working hard while Joanne asked us to move AND sing to help with our new-ish song SWAY. 🤯
We finally remembered to take a "new location" photo for posterity as well.💗
Last but not least, we performed two songs as entertainment at the Wellington quartet competitions on 2 May and while neither partner attending remembered to take a photo 😏, we did get one of tenor Beth taking part in a tag, somewhat against her will 🤣

Our rehearsal on 11 May was short due to our AGM but action packed!!
We've started learning a second verse for Te Aroha and adding NZ sign language for the first verse.
It was week two of our RQG (random quartet generator) and MIQ gave us a great rendition of Mood Indigo, one of our oooooold songs.

Our monthly social events continue - whatever the weather - with a small group braving the elements in Karori Park in March and an augmented group with one husband, one daughter and our great friend Margaret Gorton, all wrapped up warm again for a lunch at the Chocolate Frog in Miramar for our recent April outing.

We performed at Churtonleigh Care Home on Saturday April 10th but haven't been sent any photos yet. I do have one of the happy subset who decided they deserved an extra lunch afterwards at Thyme cafe for their efforts 😆

Latest news - we are appearing at the Wellington Regional Quartet competitions this Saturday as warm up act! We are first on at 5pm, and the mighty Pacific Connection are performing at the end of the competition.
There are 12 quartets competing to qualify for national competitions in September and another two appearing as guest performers.
Venue : Aotea College Te Manawa Auditorium at Aotea College, Okowai Road, Aotea
event starts at 5pm and finishes for the public around 8pm
Tickets are $10 from the BHS website or at the door

And - BIG NEWS!
We are moving our rehearsals to Churton Park Community Centre from 13 April (with 6 April being a holiday, there is no chorus that night).

Easy parking, flat access, a venue many people know about and walk past, plenty of AV for Joanne to play with - and a lovely co-ordinator helping us navigate the paperwork♥️. We were there for the opening and the 10 year anniversary, here's to singing at the next one.

Look out for a celebration function in our new location sometime in May - or just email/message us about coming along on a Monday night from 20 April onwards- once we've sorted ourselves out in our new home.

We send many many thanks to Churton Park School for hosting us and our large riser set for about 20 years (before and after the renovations) 🫶

Our monthly social outings have restarted for 2026, with a picnic in a rather storm-ravaged Tawa park in February and a small but perfectly formed group making it to Karori Park last weekend.

Chorus rehearsals had a slightly bumpy start this year, with the storm in February taking out a day but we are back rehearsing for our April performance at Churtonleigh.
Jean decided to give us a slightly complicated round on a recent Monday - something about doctors and limes and coconuts! Pity I dont know how to add the audio 😆

Nearly there, one more session of Christmas Carols and seasonal ditties to go!
