Te Ara Tupua (Petone Ngauranga) cycleway and path is Amazing!!! (mulitple ! justified...) Opening on weekend was full of happy smiling faces of all ages. Shout out to Julian of ecokiwi magazine for this great video collage and Cycle Wellington for reminding us to go:

May is a BIG Month! In TWO days: Sustainable Travel Expo: The Hub, Kelburn campus 11am-2pm, Wed 6th May.
Lots of wheely good things and giveaways (Hūnuku, Sustainability team, VUW Rec centre, Bicycle Junction, Evo Cycles, Greater Wellington, Flamingos, Wellington Cycles)

Also:
Cycle Wellington celebrate the Te Ara Tupua opening (Wellington to Pito-one shared pathway) on Saturday 16th May.
Queens Wharf at 10:45am, ride to Honiara Reserve at Pito-One (arriving around midday), picnic at an ūranga back along the new path.

Bicycle Wellington – have a Bicycle Picnic
When Sunday 24 May, 11am (wraps up around 3pm)
Where Meet at Waitangi Park, finish at Rongotai Skatepark

Wellington City Council: running Bike the Bays , Commuter coffee etc – LOTS of cycling events during May

Thanks so much to the 400 odd reponses we had to our Victoria University Wellington campuses commuting survey. There's many keen cyclists out there, perhaps more now - watch this space! Also HUGE congratulations to the student who won the $200 grocery vouchers! This was the first time they'd won anything so they were delighted, hope for all of us! They reasonably asked not to be named nor photographed so as proof that indeed someone did win here here is the hand holding the winnings! :) More Hūnuku activity coming soon...
