Our second community skill-sharing workshop was a HOOT. Through the newly minted Brooklyn Bread Buddies, sourdough bread-making is alive and well in Brooklyn. Thanks so much to Scottie and Pete for facilitating!

Our refillery, boutique, and opshop is exclusively manned by volunteers who generously donate their time.

Meet the makers: Gill Mark

Brooklyn local, Gill Mark's out-of-work passion is making high quality handmade candles. Her delightful fruit, vegetable, and kina candles have brightened up our shelves (and the homes of those who purchase them) for the last couple months.

Gill is one of those friendly, but formidable people with drive and many passions. She recently dropped off some bright and beautiful handmade soaps.

Teach a hu-man to fish: Part 3, Gardening (Saturday 30 May, 2pm)

Join Brooklyn gardener-extraordinaire, Mel Beirne in our final workshop of the series on gardening. Mel has a wealth of best-practice gardening knowledge, and understanding of seasonality.

This workshop will run Question & Response style, so please bring your questions!

Meet the makers: Kelly Chang Art

Kelly Chang is a genuine good sort, and we're stoked to stock her cards at Two Todman.

Kelly forages sea glass on walks along the beach, makes these fun cards (often depicting native birds, bats, and insects) and donates the proceeds to a nature-based charity of her choosing. She's previously donated to: Kākāpō recovery; Predator Free Wellington; and Maungatautari Ecological Island Trust .

These sea glass cards (at only $5!) have been very popular!

Meet the makers: Te Puaka Dried Flowers

Recently, Two Todman's walls (and basket) have been graced with beautiful Te Puaka dried flower arrangements.

Local māmā, Naoko, makes wreaths and arrangments for all occasions using flowers she dries herself and often foraged foliage. Naoko moved to New Zealand from Japan many years ago. She has a lovely 3 year old daughter, that's a small hurricane of energy. If Naoko's not chasing her around, or working, she spends what time she can in her Newtown studio making arrangements.

Following on from Friends of Vogelmorn's epic Repair Cafe last week, Two Todman are running a series of skill-sharing workshops over the next three weeks.

This Saturday (2pm), Two Todman volunteers Lee and Flora share their clothing repair skills. Bring in some too-much-loved clothing and learn skills to get more life out of them!

Hey Brooklyn! As a follow on from the Friends of Vogelmorn's epic Repair Cafe (THIS SATURDAY 9 May 10-2), Two Todman are excited to be offering a series of skill sharing workshops!

~ Sewing/ Mending (Saturday 16 May): bring along garments with tears, or hems that need taking up and Two Todman's own Lee Baker (you'll find her volunteering in the Two Todman shop on Wednesdays) will teach you how to repair your clothing.

~Sourdough bread making (Friday 22 May & Saturday 23 May): bring along some flour and learn the art of sourdough bread with Scottie Reeve (further instructions about equipment needed prior to the event will be provided).

~Gardening (Saturday 30 May): learn how to make the most of your garden with Mel Bernie from Brooklyn Orchard.
