Magic May Day!

Today we created a new strawberry bed with lasagna layers, reset our corn and sunflower bed with lasagna layers, dug out the soil in our little greenhouse and created lasagna layers, filled our bioreactor with wet leaves for creating leaf mould compost, managed the worm farms, saved bean seeds to gift to community, washed and organised pots, checked and rebaited traps, did a harvest for the team with pumpkins delivered to The Hub, and enjoyed morning tea thanks to Toni Foxton, & Ronja Landeck. :)

Massive shout out to our incredible team: Murray, Yohann, Tom, Ronja, Andrea, Aleida, Dylan, Matt, Ellie, Harry, Ingrid, Yonatan, Sophie, Syndey, Josie, Rachel, Sage, Hanna, Sam, Megan, Cleodie, Laura, Supir, Jason, Toni and Em.

AGM - Amazing Mahi of Growers! and also our annual general meeting. :)

Wow, what a morning with this crew!
Today we consolidated our last season's bioreactors and readied the empty one for another build (whoohoo!), we fed out the worm farms a grand buffet, laid cardboard and mulched pathways, put the finishing touches on the greenhouses, saved bean seeds, received the most incredible drop of manure thanks to Bryce & his partner for their time and vehicle & Queensbury Dogs for the manure resource! We rolled up the bird netting for winter, planted out some cold hearty seedlings, topped up our raised beds with manure, did a harvest for the team with surplus delivered to The Hub Produce Pantry, and enjoyed some exquisite team baking while we ran through the AGM. Thanks to Toni Foxton, Colin, Cleodie, Stevie & Grace for the culinary creations! 🥰

Massive thanks to our team: Murray, Kev, Grace, Stevie, Perri & Ivan, Yohann, Jason, Cleodie, David, Ed, Lucy, Matt, Annie, Emma, Jake, Rosalie, Dylan, Anne, Sophie, Toni, and Em.

And special mention to our committee, who work their magic behind the scenes to keep things humming along. 😍🤩

What a delight. 😍

It's been a busy week!

Started with a mid-week greenhouse building session. Then Saturday Bee and finishing with an absolutely brilliant workshop with Chris and Sunny from Gibbston Microgreens!

On Sat we saved seed, gave our greenhouse an interior clean, checked the traps, managed the worm farms, installed irrigation to the big greenhouses, began rolling up the bird netting for winter, tidied up the garden and pumpkin patch, watered the bioreactors, did a harvest for the team with surplus delivered to The Hub pantry, and enjoyed morning tea complements of Sidekick Soda and the team.

Huge thanks to our team: Murray, Kev, Yohann, Tom, Bethan & Finley, Yumi, Martina, Jason, Sarah, Toni, Catherine, and Em.

Today Chris and Sunny from Gibbston Microgreens shared their growing expertise with us, covering the basics of growing microgreens & sprouts at home with lots tips and tricks for success. The perfect nutrient packed and delicious kai grown right on the countertop. As an added bonus we got the option of a full tray to take home and enjoy, keeping the tray to begin our own micro's journey. 🌱👩‍🌾
