The Wanda Foundation The Wanda Foundation was established in July 2021, with a focus to 'inspire environmental change through the arts'.

"We believe that in order to be our best creative selves, we must ensure we have a healthy environment to be creative in." Waste Free Wanda is an interactive stage show for primary-aged children. Written and performed by award-winning singer/songwriter Anna van Riel, this one-woman musical gives young audiences empowering and creative solutions on how to combat single-use plastics and protect our

environment, while using the arts to give them the confidence to implement them. With powerhouse anthems and solutions that stick, Waste Free Wanda is an entertaining, one-stop educational solution that shows us how we can reduce our waste and discover tools that prevent us from counting solely on recycling to save our planet. With the help of her young audiences, her ghetto blaster and Takumanumanu, her ancient grandfather, Wanda finds solutions to save her town and empower her community. This dynamic and hugely entertaining stage show is currently touring New Zealand

We are so delighted to be a part of this collaboration with Tiaki Maniototo and regional support who helped bring this project together.
It could not come to life of course, without the artists.

If you find yourself in Ranfurly, do be sure to stop to admire the incredible murals and the new energy infused into the centre of town. Absolutely wonderful!

Paulina Barry, finally combatting our wild Central Otago weather, to complete her gorgeous mural of our endemic skink wrapped around a Urisia caespitosa (creeping mountain foxglove), know to this area.
This collaboration with has been in the pipeline since last summer, but crazy weather bombs continued to kaibosh our progress.
We are so excited to see this coming together, and brighten the art deco town of Ranfurly.
Next time you fi d yourself driving through, be sure to stop and check out the collection of fantastic mural coming together in the township.

As we bring the plan together it is heart ending to receive the suitcases that will be the foundation of our forthcoming exhibition in Otago & Southland in 2026.
