𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗔 𝟮-𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗪𝗕𝗢𝗬!
On another amazing Wanaka Rodeo day there was a special moment for Invercargill cowboy Nate Robertson who broke open with a 53pt ride in the 2nd Divi Saddle Bronc ride, the second time this season he has broken open in a rough stock event, the first was the Ba****ck contest where he broke open back at Hawkes Bat last year. Nate then got on his first open Saddle Bronc and won with a 61pt marking! Congratulations cowboy!

𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗟𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗡!
Tammy Taylor and ‘’Gold’’ have had quite the start to their first season together and today they picked up their third win so far in the Barrel Race contest. But there in second was our standings leader Kate Hughes and ’Sister’ who earned enough in second to retain their lead overall. They’ll meet again at Canterbury Rodeo on the tenth January, worth the price of admission own its own to watch these two plus a very strong field of southern cowgirls keen to have a run at the title.

𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗
Alexandra cowgirl Sky Sanders and ‘Cappi’ placed second today in the Open breakaway Roping contest and did it by running their fastest time of the season and the second fastest open time so far, a slick 2.645 sec run. They move into the lead in the national standings in this event.

Oamaru cowboy Ryan Adam an ‘Streaker’ reminded the field why they are the defending Steer Wrestling champions and the team to watch when they stopped the clock in 5.265 secs to make it title number four so far this season.

𝗛𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗦 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗪𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟
Bianca Haugh and ‘Cinch’ re on fire and at the Wanaka rodeo this pairing added title number three for the season in the 2nd Divi Barrel Race and in so doing further built her lead in the Rookie All Round Cowgirl standings.

𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗧𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗦!
For the second time this season Clayton Perkins has had a very busy and extremely successful day at the rodeo. The four-event junior cowboy won three of his events and was second in his other event to add another 150pts to his strong Junior All Round Champion Cowboy standings lead!

He won the Junior Breakaway Roping for the fifth time this season and then won his first Novice Steer Ride title. He placed second in the Junior Barrel Race behind Felicity Montgomery and ‘Swift’ then paired up with his legendary dad Anthony who was on heeling duties for the father and son to win for the second time so far this season, the Team Roping contest. Congratulations Clayton, what a day!
