Kia ora whānau, we’re happy to share that mahi has now begun on the doors and windows of the wharenui. This is another important step in the renovation plans for our whare, helping to make it warmer and drier for everyone.
The work is expected to be completed within the next 3 to 4 weeks. We’ll keep you updated as things progress. ⚒️

Ngā mihi nui ki a tātou katoa who have been part of our wānanga over the past two sessions. It’s been so good. 💚

As we look ahead to our final wānanga over ANZAC weekend, we will come together not only to continue our learning, but also to honour and remember. We plan to attend Taihoa Marae's ANZAC service together, meeting here at Takitimu Marae at 8am to ensure we arrive before the 8:30am start.

We will close our wānanga on Sunday with a hakari, celebrating the haerenga we have shared. Check out our photos to see some familiar smiles and their meke mahi.

If you have any pātai, send us a message.

🌿Here’s a quick reminder that our 3rd Raranga Wānanga is on tonight. If you’ve been thinking about it, come along and see what it’s all about, whānau. No registration is needed for the remaining weekends. This is our third to last session in the series, so it’s a great chance to pick up some new skills. You may also see some of our new trustees there, so be sure to say kia ora. Starting at 5:30pm. 🌿

Kia ora whānau,

A big mihi to everyone who joined us for our AGM yesterday, both in person and online.

The trustees would like to acknowledge the resignations of Jean-Anne Tamati and Paul Eaglesome. We recognise and thank them for their contribution and service to our marae. Their mahi has not gone unnoticed, and we wish them all the very best for their future endeavours.

Following these resignations, we were able to appoint three new trustees. We warmly welcome Patrick Edwards, Jess King, and Ratima Hauraki to the committee. It is encouraging to see our next generation stepping forward to support and lead our kaupapa.

We have a busy year ahead with plenty of mahi planned, so as always, whānau, keep an eye out for upcoming updates.

Ngā mihi nui.
K R King - Chairperson

Whānau mā, whānau mātou! What a massive weekend we had. Our second wānanga in the raranga series took place over the weekend, and the weather definitely put on a show for us. Rāhoroi (Saturday) was cold and drizzly, but the kaupapa rolled on. Rātapu (Sunday) brought Tamanui Te Rā, and the wairua was on. The raranga continued, and as always, the kōrero was full of mana.

Check out a few of the photos from the weekend! 📸 If you spot whānau you know in there, give them a tag and share the aroha. To the whānau who continue to show up, we see you putting in the mahi and sharing your pūrakau.

Kaua e whakama, join us for our next wānanga, Friday 27 March – Sunday 29 March. Whether you want to pop in for a quick titiro or stay for the whole weekend, nau mai, haere mai. All whānau are welcome. 🌱✨
