Join this one-day Wānanga Karanga at Whakakī Marae to strengthen your understanding, confidence, and connection to karanga in a supportive environment. This is part of the Pae Tapu project, led by our Kaumātua Kaunihera, to develop and support paepae in Wairoa rohe.

Join this two-part, Ngā Reo Tuku Iho – Oral History Workshop and learn how to record and preserve the stories that matter.

CLOSING SOON: Whai Mātauranga Scholarships Are Now Open

Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust is pleased to announce Whai Mātauranga is now live for applications for 2026.

We're offering scholarship grants to help you further your goals, whether it's in education, getting qualified for a certification, a credential, or up-skilling. You are eligible to apply if you are a member of Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa.

This year we are offering scholarships in 3 categories:
• Up to $1,200 for those who reside in the rohe
• Up to $500 for those who reside outside the rohe
• $300 for those attending Māori boarding schools

Applications will close on: 29 May 2026

Some pics from the awesome weekend wānanga at Taihoa Marae with Chef Joe McLeod, local rongoā expert Richard Allen, and their team, over the weekend as part of the 2026 Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Mātauranga programme.

A highlight was the Sunday hākari, prepared using many special rākau to flavour the hāngi, which we packed into rourou made by participants.
