Fancy learning the precision art of joinery (ie making neat joins in wood) to create a tray, a box, or something similar?

The Guild of Woodworkers Wellington have an upcoming course at the Tawa MenzShed. It’s a four day course that runs 10am-4pm each day.

Great Part 1 of the Fine Woodwork class with Nick from the GWW.

We learnt about measuring, marking, and cutting, as well as chiseling, fettling, and knife walls. We also learnt a lot about tool maintenance and sharpening, which is often the key to a good outcome!

This tray uses halving joints, as well as rounded tops and ends achieved by planing, and a beveled bottom that gives it a floating look and makes it easy to pick up.

Very excited for part two of the course!
