🏃TAUMARUNUI INTERSCHOOL MUD RUN 2026! 🏃
Mud, smiles, challenges and plenty of determination!
Another awesome TYCT event completed, with our tamariki getting stuck in, giving it a go and representing their schools.
A massive thank you to our schools, volunteers, iSports crew, supporters and whānau who helped make the day happen.
Well done to every single runner who tackled the course, mud and all!

🏀 YEAR 5/6 BASKETBALL – THAT’S A WRAP! 🏀
Another awesome TYCT junior sports competition completed for 2026!
Over the past term, 14 Year 5/6 teams have hit the court, learning, competing, building confidence and having plenty of fun along the way.
A huge thank you to our players, schools, coaches, referees, volunteers and whānau who continue to support these opportunities for our tamariki.

Giving our Babybacks and Junior boxers the opportunity to step into the ring, experience something new and put the skills they’ve been learning into action.
It’s not about winning or losing at this age it’s about building confidence, courage and a love for the sport, while creating positive experiences that keep our young people active and engaged.

Another awesome opportunity supported and provided to Taumarunui Silverback Boxing Academy athletes giving them the chance to step outside our small town, represent Taumarunui and continue developing through boxing.
These opportunities are about so much more than competition they’re about growth, experience, confidence and showing our rangatahi what is possible when opportunities are put in front of them. Proud to see our local athletes continuing to represent Taumarunui on bigger stages.

TYCT PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR TOP RUNNERS
Taumarunui’s top Year 7 & 8 runners recently had the opportunity to represent their schools and our wider Taumarunui community and what an awesome achievement.
After earning their places through our local interschool competition, these talented rangatahi stepped up to the next level, proudly carrying the names of their schools and our town with them.
It’s always great to see our local tamariki and rangatahi progressing from our Taumarunui events and getting the opportunity to test themselves against some of the best runners from across the region.
Regardless of placings, simply earning the opportunity to represent Taumarunui is something to be incredibly proud of.
Congratulations to all of our Year 7 & 8 representatives!

🏃‍♀️ WAIKATO FULL PRIMARY SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY 2026 🏃‍♂️

What an awesome effort from our Taumarunui runners yesterday!

Our team of Year 7 & 8 runners represented their schools and Taumarunui with pride at the annual Waikato Full Primary Schools Cross Country.

With 60+ runners in each event, the competition was tough, and our rangatahi did extremely well amongst some of the best primary school cross-country runners from across the Waikato.

A huge congratulations to you all! You should be very proud of your efforts, determination and the way you represented your schools and our wider Taumarunui community.

Well done team awesome mahi!
