Women’s Refuge is excited to embark on the first of its kind pilot programme for children – ‘Kōkihi ngā Rito’. Kōkihi ngā Rito has tamariki at its heart; it provides a service experience that is purposeful, targeted, effective, and accounts for children’s specific needs. We recognise that children’s experiences of support in the aftermath of violence are just as important as adults’ experiences. Our tamariki will be supported as clients in their own right throughout all aspects of Refuge services.
