The Christmas countdown is on......

Round up the team for a Christmas party by the beach! Whether you’re celebrating with workmates, clients, friends or family, we have a space at Orewa Surf Club Café to suit your gathering:

There’s no venue hire cost. A minimum food and beverage spend applies, and a deposit secures your booking. We can tailor the menu, seating and event details to suit your group.

Interested in IRB racing?

Come along to the club to find out what IRB racing is all about and learn how you can be involved. Whether you are already super keen or this is a completely new idea, everyone is welcome!

We have lots of capacity for patients this season, so if this sounds fun, Come along!

Minimum requirements: Surf Lifeguard Award (SLA), or in the process of getting it

We are proud to partner with wakaama this weekend providing water safety for the 2026 Waka Ama Long Distance Nationals event held at Orewa beach. Thank you to all our Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club lifeguards who are out on the water rescue ready!

With Waka Ama bringing more than 1,500 competitors, plus spectators, to Ōrewa from Friday, we’re celebrating with three evenings of live music at Orewa Surf Club Café!

Join us Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October from 5pm as Barnzy plays live on the beachfront. Grab a drink, enjoy something to eat and settle in on our new beachfront lawn for the music and ocean views. ☀️

Whether you’re competing, cheering someone on or just keen for a great evening by the beach, come and join us!

🛶 Waka Ama is underway at Orewa Beach! 🌊

The action continues through to Sunday 4 October, so bring the kids down to enjoy the exciting racing and while you’re here, pop into the Orewa Surf Club Cafe for something delicious to eat and drink. ☕🍔

We’re open our usual hours, with all meals available as takeaway - so you can enjoy your food at the cafe or take it down to the beach while watching the racing.

New Zealand Pool Rescue Championships

🏊‍♂️This weekend 551 athletes from clubs across NZ, Australia, Spain and Norway will be on the blocks at Auckland’s Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre for the Aon New Zealand Pool Rescue Championships 2026.

🚩Pool champs training keeps our lifeguards fit during winter, ensuring they are rescue ready for summer patrols.

🌎One of the best things about this event is that you’ll see 10-year-olds racing their first nationals alongside world record holders, with a fair few of NZ's national team competitors also hitting the pool as they prepare for the 2026 Lifesaving World Championships.

Orewa will be well represented across juniors, seniors and masters and we wish them all the best! 🔵 🔴🔵Go Team Orewa!

Orewa Surf Club x Harbour Sport 🤝

The legends at Harbour Sport are coming in to facilitate some awesome workshops. Starting with one for our athletes and one for our parent community on the same night at our club.

🏊🏻 Athletes, this is a chance for you to contribute to how we do things and the kind of club you want to be a part of. There will also be some tools to support you in achieving your goals

🙂Parents, this interactive session explores how adults can best support young people in sport. We'll discuss communication, motivation, resilience, wellbeing, burn out and practical ways to create positive sporting experiences that help youth thrive both in and out of the club environment.
