With great sadness, but hearts full of wonderful memories, NPRDA was honoured to do the guard of honour for our amazing long time volunteer Faye Dravitski, alongside her special Lions Club friends at her recent funeral.
Faye had volunteered with us for 28 years, and there wasn't much she hadn't done. A horse loving lady, her happy place was down in the arena, where she enjoyed spending time with not only the horses, but riders she supported over the years.
A talented lady with her sewing machine, Faye has created many practical and helpful items for us over the years as well. Her face masks and saddle covers during Covid time, her brush bags and numerous cover repairs, Faye just loved to help.
We will all miss Faye's warm personality, her wonderful smile and great stories of a life well lived.
Rest in peace Faye, we were honoured to have you as a NPRDA volunteer.

Meet Tarafields Silverlining (Tara), a 14-year-old Percheron Clydesdale cross mare and a valued member of New Plymouth RDA. Gifted to the group in 2025, Tara plays an important role supporting adult and larger riders. Despite her impressive size, Tara is gentle, kind, loves a job to do, and never misses an opportunity to smile for the camera!

We are so lucky to have a signed Taranaki Bulls 2025 rugby jersey which we are raffling. There are just 50 tickets at $5 each. Any of you out there interested just comment on the post and we will send you the purchase details. Think of the odds - so much better than Lotto! And in a blink of an eye our sessions for Term 3 have finished.
We were really excited to receive this amazing painting by our fabulous rider Noah yesterday. It is now hanging pride of place in our lunch room. Isn't it wonderful.
We are now on our holiday break. Don't forget we have 3 weeks off.
We look forward to welcoming every one back from Monday October 19th.
Enjoy your break, however it looks for you.

A HUGE Thank you to James and Ravensdown for their incredibly generous gift of fertiliser to us. We really really really appreciate your support.
Also a big Thanks to Wills Contracting 2000 Ltd for their support in transporting these bags to us.
Today's drizzle has been very beneficial to the fertiliser which has already gone on, using our sponsored spreader from the local Lions clubs.

Last week was dress up week. One of those weeks where I'm not sure who laughs more, our riders, their caregivers or our volunteers!
There were some stunning outfits being paraded around, but unfortunately (maybe fortunately!) too much laughing was had to snap too many photographs

September is “Wills Month”

Most of us don’t have to think too hard about what matters to us. It’s often the places, people and causes that have touched our lives and hold a special place in our hearts.

September is Wills Month – a good time to ask: What story will you leave behind?

For riders and families at New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled progress is often built one session, one goal and one achievement at a time. Some are building strength and mobility, while others are gaining confidence, developing independence or reconnecting with an activity they love.

Leaving a gift doesn’t have to mean leaving a large amount. Whatever the size your gift could help create a lasting legacy that ensures future generations of young riders experience those moments of progress, connection and achievement.
