⚓ A Trap on the High Seas! 🎲

Last week’s D&D adventure turned into one of our most chaotic sessions yet!

With around 12 young adventurers aboard their ship, the crew spotted a mysterious vessel sitting motionless along their route. After a cautious approach, two brave adventurers decided the best way to investigate was to fire themselves out of cannons onto the other ship! đź’Ą

What they didn’t know was that the “abandoned” ship was actually packed with pirates — and they had been waiting for a whirlpool that appeared in the area each day.

What followed was an all-out naval battle: cannon fire, a minotaur duel, frost magic, a frog familiar sneaking below deck, improvised bombs, damaged ships, heroic shipwright repairs… and eventually a collision between the two vessels right on the edge of the whirlpool!

Even better, two girls who had joined us from a previous session took control of the pirate crew, deciding how the enemy ship would operate and giving our adventurers a genuinely unpredictable opponent.

The session ended with the adventurers’ ship being dragged towards the whirlpool while the pirate ship escaped with three adventurers aboard. What happens next? We’ll have to wait and see! 🌊

A huge thank you to Chris Wetzel from Alex Trueblood's Adventure Emporium for generously lending and donating D&D materials to our club. The ships and other resources have already become a fantastic part of our games, and it’s wonderful seeing them helping create adventures for a new generation of players.

To be continued… ⚔️🌊🎲

Kia ora Cubers

Help! We are in need of some parent helpers to keep our wonderful group going. Please let us know if this could be use of your family.

We need someone to open up and close the hall occasionally (we have others who do this, but not available all the time), helping with communication, collecting money/paying for the hall.

If this sounds like something you can help with, please reach out to one of the parent helpers at tomorrows meet (9-11am at St Chad's hall in Omata Rd), or comment on this post. You can also reach out via email on [email protected].

Thank you!
