๐Ÿš๐Ÿก The Helicopter House Has Landed! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿš
After a busy few months behind the scenes, weโ€™re excited to share this big milestoneโ€”the 2025 MEGA Nelson Helping Hands Heli House has been lifted into its forever home.
An incredible moment and a true team effort in support of the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter.

๐Ÿ† Weโ€™re incredibly proud to share that Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson has won the Helping Hands Community Impact Award 2026!
This award recognises the heart of what we do โ€” rolling up our sleeves and working alongside our community to make a real difference.
From sensory gardens and school projects to our Helicopter House, which has now raised over $750,000 for the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust โ€” this is what Helping Hands is all about. ๐Ÿ’š

Yesterday our team had the pleasure of spending time out at Brightwater School, rolling up our sleeves for another Helping Hands project. ๐Ÿ™Œ
We carried out a general tidy-up of the school grounds, refreshed the sandpit with new sand, laid new bark throughout the gardens, added some new planting (with fantastic help from the students!), and gave the outdoor seating a fresh coat of paint. We also created a new stoned area to help tidy things up even further.
To top it all off, the team cooked lunch for the kids โ€” always a highlight of the day!
A huge thank you to the staff and students at Brightwater School for getting involved and making it such a rewarding experience. as well as Stoke Garden and Landscapes . Itโ€™s projects like these that remind us how important community is.
And as always, a big shoutout to Bowater Motor Group for their ongoing support in making these Helping Hands projects possible. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ’™ Helping Hands in action at Mฤrahau Outdoor Education Centre ๐Ÿ’™
A couple of weeks ago our team completed a massive, weekโ€‘long Helping Hands project at the Mฤrahau Outdoor Education Centre โ€” a place that gives so many young people the chance to learn, explore, and connect with the outdoors.
This project wouldnโ€™t have been possible without the incredible support of local businesses who generously contributed their time, skills, and materials:
๐Ÿ‘ Bremick , ECKO Fastening Systems Ltd & MiTek โ€” for supplying all the fixings for the new deck
๐Ÿ‘ Graze Engineering โ€” for supplying the new fire pit
๐Ÿ‘ Norriss Building Limited โ€” for supporting the building work
Together with the Bowater Motor Group Izuzu D-Max ute we delivered a new deck, upgraded fire pit area, fixed roofing, painting, gardening and general improvements โ€” helping set the centre up to serve the community well into the future.
A huge thank you to everyone involved. This is what Helping Hands is all about ๐Ÿ™Œ

Weโ€™re proud to have supported Hira Rural Kindergarten supplying new roofing materials and all fixings, enabling the project to be completed for the benefit of local tamariki.

๐ŸŒฑ Helping Hands in Action! ๐ŸŒฑ
When the students at St Joseph's School Nelson shared their heartfelt video asking for help, we knew we had to get involved!
This project came together in two exciting phases:
โœ… First, we built and installed two sturdy planter boxes and filled them with fresh soil.
โœ… Next, our gardening team teamed up with the students to plant vegetables and herbsโ€”while sharing tips and teaching them all about growing their own food.
As always, a huge thank you to Bowater Motor Group Isuzu D-Maxโ€”we couldnโ€™t do these projects without you! ๐Ÿš›๐Ÿ’ช

๐ŸŒฟ Helping Hands at Brightwater Scouts๐ŸŒฟ
We kicked off with what could only be described as the epitome of an overgrown garden. But with sleeves rolled up and tools in hand, the Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson crew got stuck in!
โœ… We ripped out the w**ds
โœ… Sprayed to keep them from coming back
โœ… Laid over 100 square meters of w**d mat
โœ… Planted new fruit trees to build a thriving orchard
โœ… Re-barked the entire area
โœ… And gave the whole space a good old tidy-up!
It was a massive day of transformation, and weโ€™re proud to support the Brightwater Scouting community with a fresh, functional, and beautiful outdoor space.
Big shoutout to the team โ€” and huge appreciation to the Bowater Motor Group D-Max - the ultimate workhorse that helped us haul, shift and power through the day. Couldn't have done it without you! ๐Ÿ™

What an incredible achievement! Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of individuals, sponsors, and suppliers โ€” and thousands of hours of hard work โ€” the 2024/25 Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson Community Helping Hands Helicopter House has officially found its new home in Stoke.
๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Shelley & Hamish, the proud new owners, who are absolutely thrilled with their beautiful new house.
Together, we raised an outstanding $156,781.42 for the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Endowment Trust, helping to support vital emergency services in our region.
