Congo For Hospice

Congo For Hospice Gareth “Congo” is no stranger to fighting the impossible. A few years ago, cancer nearly ended
his story.

Against all odds, his willpower, his support system, and his sheer determination brought
him back to full health, to now raise $12,100 for Hospice

Hey everyone, I apologise that this has taken far too long to post, but as mentioned in the video, I had a few things going on over the past month.
So here is my race report for the Kathmandu Coast to Coast
It was certainly an adventure and had it's challenges, but with everyone's support and the motivation to help even just one person and family through raising funds for the Nelson Tasman Hospice, it kept me moving forward.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, we managed to raise $5,855

Well what can I say other than I finished one of the toughest races of my life.
I will do a full report in another post, but just want to thank each and everyone one of you who has supported me in preparation and also the amazing donations for the Nelson Tasman Hospice
I am truly humbled.
Donations are still open until the end of the month, if you'd still like to support https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/congo-for-hospice

Hey everyone.
Its race eve and I thought I'd do a short video about my past 6 months preparation for the Kathmandu Coast to Coast highlighting the ups and downs just to get to the start line.
Maybe it's too honest, but that's just how I roll.
Please keep those donations coming in for the Nelson Tasman Hospice as every dollar makes a difference https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/congo-for-hospice

Please please keep those donations coming in, as every dollar makes a huge difference to so many families in our region https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/congo-for-hospice

So they say just getting to the start line is the biggest challenge, and they're not wrong.
I unfortunately suffered a grade 1 tear in my calf 3 weeks ago and have been doing all I can to rest and rehabilitate it, as the stubborn bu**er I am will not let it stop me competing next week.
My physio Suze at The Sports Clinic and my Chiropractor Olivia at Inner Strength Health & Performance have been amazing in treating me.
Tonight was my first trial run/walk and all felt good.
I beat cancer, I will not let this beat me in finishing the Kathmandu Coast to Coast
Keep those donations coming in for the amazing Nelson Tasman Hospice

Less than 2 weeks to go and we still need to raise as much money as we can.
Thank you so much to those individuals who have already donated and also to the amazing businesses who have supported in donations and services.
Lets get the total to $12,300 which will cover just one day of operations for the Nelson Tasman Hospice

What an amazing day I had with Topsport Kayaking yesterday, on their 58km guided trip down the Waimak in preparation for the Kathmandu Coast to Coast
Lot's learnt and confidence built for the kayak stage.
Now I just need to put it all together in just 19 days time.
Keep those donations rolling in for the Nelson Tasman Hospice and let's all make a difference in our amazing community

Hey everyone I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to my charity campaign to raise money for the Nelson Tasman Hospice
I'm doing the 2 day individual Kathmandu Coast to Coast in 23 days, which has been a bucket list event for me and after the cancer scare 2 years ago, I wasn't sure i was going to be ever able to do it.
If you happen to have a spare donation available, then please donate to the amazing hospice via my Givealittle page https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/congo-for-hospice
Also there are a couple of video interviews on my YouTube channel that highlight my own personal journey through the cancer and also the incredible work the Nelson Tasman Hospice do for my local community
