Denise has been volunteering for 3 years, and Harvey joined later after seeing how rewarding the work was. As former teachers, they love using their skills to connect with people; Harvey’s handyman skills come in handy too around the shop. They love seeing the ongoing improvements to the shop, and helping customers find joy in little trinkets—like the time they tracked down a rare book to make a visitor's day! 📚
For them, the best parts of volunteering are the team camaraderie, helping people in the community, and seeing their granddaughter thrive in Vinnies Youth. As they put it: "Society is better off if more people are willing to help." 💙
