Well whānau, the time has come to say “ka kite ano’ to the one and only Bee Rutene, who's off on an amazing new journey with NMIT.
But before you go... you had one request. A pyjama boil-up party. And we delivered. 😂

PJs on, BBQ cranked up, two pots of mean pork bones and watercress on the go, and if you look closely, you'll spot Ernie and Burt holding it down at the BBQ. The Māori Telly Tubbies were in full effect. Nothing says aroha like a feed and a laugh with your people.

Thank you for everything you've brought to this team, Bee. Your mahi, your energy, your heart for our team and whānau you worked with. You'll be missed more than words can say, but we're so proud of you and excited for what's ahead.

See you next week for a hangi at ours, and see you at our Xmas breakup in Marahau.

Hei konā mai, e hoa. Go well, shine bright, and don't forget us when you're famous.
Arohanui always 💛

She's baaaaack? 👀

It wouldn’t be a party in the Wairau kitchen without the energy of Carolynn Tipene! We put out the call for a casual role for Ka Ora Ka Ako (Healthy School Lunch Programme), and thankfully Carolynn said yes!!

Carolynn brings the heat (and the laughs). Whether it’s getting the lunches prepped or keeping the team smiling, we are so much better with you here. Welcome back to the Te Kotahi whānau, Carolynn! ❤️

All the best in your new role Melissa, the Team @ Te Kāhui Hauora o Te Tauihu are so very lucky to have you join them :)

Nau mai, haere mai Melissa!

We’re very happy to welcome Melissa Linton (Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, Ngāti Kuia, Rangitāne o Wairau) to Te Kāhui Hauora o Te Tauihu as our new Whānau Voice Lead.

Melissa comes to us from Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Charitable Trust, where she has spent the past four years supporting kaimahi and whānau across Te Tauihu. She brings with her strong relationships across our rohe, a deep commitment to whānau, and an understanding of the people and communities at the heart of this mahi.

We had the privilege of welcoming Melissa with a mihi whakatau this week, bringing our kaimahi together with Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu kaimahi to mark the beginning of this new chapter.

Whānau voice is central to our kaupapa. Melissa will lead this mahi, making sure the experiences, aspirations and whakaaro of whānau continue to be heard and, importantly, help shape the decisions and mahi that follow.

We may be a small rōpū here at Te Kāhui Hauora, but there’s a lot of mahi happening around our table, and we’re very pleased to have Melissa pull up a chair alongside us.

Melissa, nau mai ki tēnei kaupapa, ki tēnei rōpū. We’re looking forward to the mahi ahead, and very glad to have you with us.

🖤🤍❤️
