Toi Matarua has been selected as a finalist in the group section for the Volunteering Hawke’s Bay Excellence Awards 🔥

Toi Matarua is a rangatahi-led su***de prevention and leadership rōpū established in 2012 in Hawke’s Bay. Made up of 30 young volunteers aged 12–18, including 9 youth leaders, the group co-designs programmes with youth workers and contributes hundreds of unpaid hours each year to devise, choreograph, compose, rehearse and perform original productions addressing youth mental health, su***de prevention, identity and purpose.

An awesome evening tonight at the Ihi Camp Showcase at Omāhu Marae. This camp brought together rangatahi Māori from around the motu to break stigma and ignite leadership and hope. There was so much talent on display and support in the room for these rangatahi who have such bright futures.
