What an inspiring talk from Teilah Ferguson this morning. She is certainly a very impressive young lady, and her story was both powerful and thought-provoking.

I came away with several valuable takeaways, particularly something her therapist shared: "Depression is living in the past, focusing on what could have been, while anxiety is living in the future, worrying about what might happen." I thought that was a wonderful way to describe two challenges that so many people face. Great metaphors.

Teilah's courage, resilience, and positive outlook were truly inspiring. A big thank you to her for sharing her journey with us so openly and honestly. I'm sure many of us left feeling motivated and grateful for the perspective she provided.

If you want to hear inspiring speakers then come along on Wednesday mornings at 6:45 am at East Pier. You will be more than welcome.

AGM smashed out in just over five minutes — Christine, you’re a machine.

We then rolled straight into a whiteboard session mapping out what we want to achieve this year, breaking it down into three simple buckets:
Raise Stuff. Do Stuff. Build Stuff.

Huge thanks to everyone who put their hand up to do stuff. Even better was the buzz over breakfast and coffee afterwards — more ideas, more energy, more things we can get stuck into.

And yes… here’s Andy Capp, head of the Sunrise Volunteer Army, proudly kitting Duncan out with his hi‑viz vest.

Huge congratulations to Lyndal Johansson on receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship.
And hats off to David Trim for a top job as MC.

A big thank‑you to Ahuriri Sunrise member David Trim for leading a thought‑provoking workshop at our Wednesday morning meeting.

For those who don’t know David, his business specialises in facilitation and helping both businesses and not‑for‑profits thrive — and it really showed. The session sparked some great ideas… now the challenge is to put them into action.

If you’re not a Rotarian but want to make a meaningful impact in our community, follow our page and come along to one of our Wednesday morning meetings. You’ll be warmly welcomed.
