Sounds of Hawkes Bay Chorus

Sounds of Hawkes Bay Chorus We are a group of women who are passionate about singing four-part harmony, a ca****la style. Do you reckon you positively ‘rock’ when you sing in the shower?

Would you love a musical escape where you can make friends by being in a group of diverse, fun loving women? ‘Sounds of Hawke’s Bay’ could be just what you’ve been looking for! We sing ‘a ca****la’ style (unaccompanied) four-part harmony. Our repertoire includes modern, upbeat, cultural and ballad-style songs. We not only sing, but we move to the rhythm of the music adding a touch of showmanship, visual communication being an important part of telling the story of what we are singing and showing the sentiment of the song. We are dedicated to sharing the joy of dynamic, quality performances within our community. Together we are committed to growth through a culture of camaraderie, education, and fun. Our members enjoy our Thursday evening rehearsals, which includes vocal and light physical warm up routines. We are all about music and fun. Come and join us. You may find it will change your life. We meet at 7.15 each Thursday evening at the Clive School Hall, in Clive - you will be most welcome. It is a wonderful hobby where you not only get vocal training, musical education and the chance to perform, but you make great life-long friends, have a ton of fun and have the opportunity to take part in national conventions with other like-minded singers throughout New Zealand. Who else loves a good post rehearsal tag?
Wait, what is a tag? A tag in barbershop music is the dramatic final section or “big finish” of a song. We love singing tags 🎶
