Nominations are now closed for the Ahuriri Rangatahi Civic Awards 2026!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to share the incredible stories of our young people. We have been absolutely blown away by the depth of character, humility, and quiet leadership unfolding right across Ahuriri. To every single nominator: thank you for ensuring our rangatahi leaders are seen.

Our independent panel will now come together to kōrero and carefully read through every nomination shared.

Keep an eye out - the finalised 2026 Cohort will be officially announced on our website www.taiwhenua.com/rangatahiawards-1 on Monday, 15th June. We will be in touch directly with all nominees and nominators regarding the next steps and details for the upcoming awards evening.
Thank you all for uplifting our rangatahi! Kia tītokitia te waka!

Ngā mihi nui,

The Ahuriri Rangatahi Civic Awards Team

Te Taiwhenua o Te Whanganui a Orotu are absolutely thrilled to announce our special guest speaker for this year's Ahuriri Rangatahi Civic Awards 2026: bestselling author, entrepreneur, and founder of Māori Millionaire - Te Kahukura Boynton! 🌟

Of Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tūhoe, and Te Whakatōhea descent, Te Kahukura is on a massive mission to bridge the wealth gap and make financial literacy accessible, practical, and grounded for everyday people. What started as a personal goal in her 20s has grown into a powerful movement supporting a community of over 120,000 people online, a fast-growing podcast, and a major 12-month national partnership with ANZ.

As a 2025 Young New Zealander of the Year semi-finalist and United Nations Entrepreneur of the Day, Te Kahukura embodies exactly what these awards are about - humility, resilience, and impactful leadership that lifts up the whole community.

Nominations for the Ahuriri Rangatahi Civic Awards 2026 are closing soon (May 30) so don’t miss out, NOMINATE NOW!
