How lucky are we to live in such a stunning place? Known around the world for pristine environments, New Zealand delivers. And how, in Mangawhai, do we keep our special playgrounds looking so untouched?

Tomorrow, at the Placemaker's Room at the Club, 5:30 p.m., meet one of the firebrands who make things happen - Mr. Peter Wethey, Chairman of the Mangawhai Harbour Restoration Society. Mr. Wethey will grace us with his presence at the fortnightly Rotary Club and discuss our fragile harbour and the challenges it faces.

We know you care, Mangawhai, about all the "haps" around here, and this mover/shaker is dishing it straight. We've got so many amazing individuals in our community, and tomorrow night is the perfect night to meet and greet with the "doers" and the "dreamers".

Mangawhai Rotary invites all awesome people to join our meetings every second and fourth Tuesday, 5:30 at the Club. Have a wine, down a meal, tell a joke - whatever you do, you'll always be in good company! We hope to see you there!

Man, it's been another fantastic season of the Mangawhai Rotary's "Learn to Sail" project! The kids have been working hard, and now's the time to give the recognition they so deserve!

LTS kids are cordially invited to the Awards Day, next Wednesday, April 1st at Sellar's Reserve after school (3:30 p.m.). Afterwards, stick around for some kai and bring a plate to pass around! This is an LTS event, however, if you're keen to join and want to come around and see what all the excitement's about, contact Dave at 020-401-96824. We're always looking for the next up and coming sailors! Give Dave a ring today and join in the fun! Congratulations to all of this season's participants - you're all winners in our book!

For those of you who may not have heard, sadly, Wayne Wright Sr, from the Wright Foundation, has passed away. Wayne and his wonderful wife Chloe, who passed in 2023, were great philanthropists who captured the hearts of many. They have specifically sponsored Mangawhai Rotary's "Learn to Sail" project - not only to initiate it, but every year since, they have provided amazing prizes for the kids.

Wayne & Chloe have 5 children, Wayne Jr., Joseph, Samuel, Belinda & Oliver, some of the yachts are named after them. This amazing couple also provided sponsorships for the Rotary Exchange Club, helping local Rotarians, Howard and Jeanne Jury, and their granddaughter, Taylor, explore overseas.

Please take a minute today to think about these lovely souls. The world needs more like these great people today! They'll be greatly missed.
