Mangawhai Bike Park

01/10/2026

Hi Mangawhai Community!

We are on the lookout for some help!

Our committee has been working hard behind the scenes to get the new Mangawhai Bike Park up & running.

You may have seen the new fence recently installed?

This marks a great milestone as this allows us to soon have diggers on site forming the up track & the first jump line.

We are well on track to get this mahi started however we need one or two admin superstars to jump on board to assist with a small amount of paperwork & email monitoring required to keep our funding applications moving forward & our committee running smoothly.

It's not a lot of work as we are finding that many hands do make light work, however we need to take some pressure off our current volunteers to ensure the park continues to develop into what is going to be a great asset for the youth of Mangawhai & visitors alike.

If there is anyone out there that can offer an hour or two a week to assist with this then please DM us so we can talk about how you can help.

Thanks, Mangawhai Bike Park Team.

🚧 WE HAVE ACTION! 🚧

Something exciting is happening at Mangawhai Bike Park this morning! 🙌

The fencers, A1 Fenceworx, are on site and have started putting up the boundary fence. After more than a year of planning, meetings, ideas and dreaming, we’re finally seeing things start to happen!

The kids’ visions for the park are slowly moving from ideas on paper to something we can actually see taking shape.

This is just the beginning, but it’s a pretty exciting milestone for our community and, most importantly, for the kids who have helped drive the vision for this park.

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped get us to this point — volunteers, supporters, funders, businesses and everyone who has backed the idea along the way.

Watch this space… Mangawhai Bike Park is coming to life! 🔥

🚵 Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers! 🚵

What a fantastic turnout for our very first working bee at Mangawhai Bike Park! Your mahi clearing the way for the fence and track has moved this community project forward in a big way. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in! 🙌

A massive shoutout to New World Mangawhai for keeping our crew fuelled with a sausage sizzle — thank you for donating the sausages, bread, mustard, sauce and serviettes. 🌭

And a huge thank you to Mangawhai Natives for donating 200 plants, now in the ground on the hill thanks to our volunteers. 🌱

More working bees to come — stay tuned for the next date.

We’re getting closer!

Big news for Mangawhai Bike Park — the land agreement with Kaipara District Council is almost sorted, which means we’re one step closer to getting shovels in the ground! 🤘🚵‍♂️

A huge amount of work has happened behind the scenes to get us to this point, and we’re stoked to soon be starting the first stage of development — fencing, safety signage, and getting ready to build our first trail.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the Bike Park so far — the riders, families, volunteers, local businesses and the community. This is going to be something pretty special for Mangawhai.

Stay tuned… trail building is coming! 🌲🔥
