Preparations are underway for our Christmas Aroha Baskets... so we're calling on our local weavers to please share your amazing skills by crafting waikawa baskets to gift to our community. If you have experience weaving waikawa and are keen to support our kaupapa please text Becky on 021 0247 8003.

When community supports community amazing things happen!!!

Goodbye potholes, hello smooth arrivals. Having a level, functional driveway makes a world of difference for our team and all the visitors coming through the doors at Te Whai Community House.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to the local legends who stepped up to restore our driveway:
Hopper Earthworks Ltd for your expertise and coordination
Atlas Concrete Brynderwyns quarry for supplying the aggregate
Parker Lime for transporting the aggregate

Downer for stepping in to paint the fresh lines for our parking area

Our Grandparents Parenting Grandchildren Group is for grandparents who have children in their day-to-day care either through Oranga Tamariki or the Family Court.

The group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month (during term time only) to support and awhi each other by sharing expertise and experiences over morning tea.

We recognise the joys and challenges that caring for children brings and this gathering is an opportunity to share in a supportive non-judgmental environment.

Te Whai Community Trust is seeking two new trustees to join its Board: a Treasurer and a Secretary.

The Treasurer appointment suits someone with a finance background, while the Secretary appointment will suit someone with governance administration, company secretarial experience or strong administration skills. Both are voluntary governance roles of around 6 hours a month.

We are looking for people who can bring an understanding of the not-for-profit or community social services sector, and a strong commitment to Mangawhai. Previous board experience is an advantage but not essential.
