Selwyn Community Patrol

Selwyn Community Patrol In partnership with NZ Police we help prevent crime through the visibility of trained patrollers. We are a CPNZ affiliated patrol.

With the increase of population in Lincoln, Prebbleton and surrounding areas we are currently actively increasing the size and hours that we patrol. If you are interested in volunteering to help your community and also meet other like minded people then please do get in contact. Most of our patrollers do one 3 or 4 hour shift per month. You will receive full training, support, uniform and also the

satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to build a safer community for our families and the future.

Thank You Selwyn District Council!
The patrol has received funding from the SDC Community Fund to help with funding for uniforms; phone and website fees; and our amazing new β€˜On Patrol App’ that means our patrols can now be recorded in real time on an iPad.
This is a massive help to the day to day running of the patrol and recognition of all the hard work put in by the committee and our fabulous volunteers in helping to keep Selwyn safe - Thank You!

Update @ 1615hrs - We are in attendance at a large fire in Selwyn Road, Rolleston. Please stay away from the area to allow our crews to work safely to get this fire under control.

Fire and Emergency are in attendance at multiple wildfires across the Canterbury District.

We are currently at a large wildfire outside of the Hawarden township. This fire was reported to us at 14:18hrs. We have 16 fire appliances on scene and 1 helicopter on route. The fire is not threatening the township. The fire is not contained or controlled at this stage. Please stay away from the area and allow our crews to work safely.

We are also in attendance at a fire in Mount Culverden, where 8 fire appliances are currently trying to control a wildfire.

We have 7 crews in attendance at a fire near Waiau and 14 crews at a fire in Gebbies Valley. These fires are under control with crews working to make sure they are fully extinguished.

We have been in attendance at a scrub fire near Intake Rd, Kirwee since 08.35. Crews have worked hard to get this fire under control and are now making sure it is fully extinguished.

It is important that anyone who has had a fire in the past few weeks checks on them NOW to make sure they are fully extinguished!

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the perfect opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution of our Community Patrol volunteers.

Over the coming week, we'll be shining a spotlight on our patrols across the country, beginning with our Auckland patrols. Day and night, weekdays and weekends, our volunteers generously give their time to support their communities, help keep people safe, and act as an extra set of eyes and ears to deter criminal activity.

Thank you to every volunteer for the dedication, commitment, and service you provide to your communities.

Keep an eye out for your District coming up over the next few days we will feature all 12 districts and their patrols.

The speed limit is just that - a limit – not a target. Even a small change in speed makes a big difference to injury severity in a crash, for you and everyone else involved.
